Your low boost option would drive differently to an ED LB due to the difference in compression/pistons. Having had 176bhp/151lbft, 206bhp/166lbft and 236bhp/228lbft Clios, it's the torque of the LB that makes them quicker than the standard cars
He's right, sell it and buy one that's already done.
Mine was for sale for £5,000. Turbo'd. diffed, suspension, belts done, etc. and no takers. You'd be mad to do it all yourself.
If not, change the suspension, tyres and brakes and go from there.
What is your longterm plan for the car? If you have any wish to ever go for boost, then you'll need to go for belts again.
If staying NA then a nice set of second hand 438s would be a good choice
Yep mine has had loads of problems since it was converted two years ago, it’s really bloody annoying so far:
1. washer pump failed
2. Heater resistor failed
Boost - I'd either buy one done or buy a Megane, it's a lot of money to spend at ED when you can go out and buy a good spec car for a grand more.
If you're racing then get ITBs, I had them on mine for a year, they made the car sound great but the power to £ isn't worth it.
My 172 Turbo is a quick car, it sounds good and is the nice alternative to the mundane of the boring family car.
But, drove my friends 275 Trophy and it's a different world to the Clio, makes an incredible noise, comfortable, all modern toys and covers ground very quickly.
If, I had a 250 Cup...
Before spending a load of cash on the Clio, I'd also look to see what's available secondhand. Far better to let someone spend a load and then you pick it up cheaply.
My only comparison was to the £2.50 bottle I bought on Saturday which the wife forgot to pack
I thought it was expensive but then I find it weird I had to actually go to a pharmacy to buy paracetamol and it’s not on the shelf of the supermarket
If they stole mine, I wouldn't give a damn, our house is set up so if they want the car, they can happily take them without setting the house alarm off or needing to come up to us in bed.
Our cars are insured with agreed value on the Clio and the others are correctly insured so will not result...
