    Leeds_182 New Cup Project

Worst, I've got two garages post ever. Nice pad. P.S. It's November.

Same, cyclists and horses in Bedfordshire

    My Arctic Monkey's - 172 Cup & 182 Tubby

Ringland failure is very common on the 225, the 250 upwards have better standard pistons. This is why so few were done with them from CT

    Suspension upgrade?

I'm moving to BCs as car is becoming more dedicated to a track day car, if using 75/25 road use, I'd have B14s.

    Suspension upgrade?

I'm moving to BCs from B14s this winter, intending to fit mine with PMS top mounts & brace but could retain standard with them.

Does your misses like your car

I've got a 172 Turbo Wife hated my 172 Cup, she seems to like the turbo a little more, we use it when we go out without our kids. However, we went out late summer and it was hammering down "ffs, does this thing go in a straight line?" She'd like us to have a "nicer" second car, but I'd rather...

What’s the PMS shifter REALLY like?

When I sold mine I remember saying to you that I thought the price they were now was to expensive and not worth it. A few laps of Silverstone later and it's the next mod on my car again! Hoping for a Black Friday discount!

    Adam's 172 Turbo Build

Congratulations! Got the same new project in our house at the moment. Ended up SORNing my car and locking it in the garage to think about next year!

    My Arctic Monkey's - 172 Cup & 182 Tubby

If it's a track car, I'd be gutting it. Rip all that plastic out

    Tom’s 55 ‘RB 182’

I know exactly what you mean, when I put my 172 Cup back on the road 12 months ago it was the greatest thing ever. Refreshed suspension, diff & standard power, it was epic. If the ED turbo hadn't come up cheaply then I doubt I'd ever have changed it for another 2nd car, it did everything I...

    My Arctic Monkey's - 172 Cup & 182 Tubby

The O2M is the more popular choice but it's the cost that puts a lot off, Gary Spooner - The Clio Man on Facebook has a conversion for sale today. However, by the time you've done that and spent a lot, you could've just swapped out the Clio engine to a Megane engine & R26 box.

    My Arctic Monkey's - 172 Cup & 182 Tubby

This one was 285bhp, which is plenty and usable. Once you go over 300bhp, you end up not being able to use the full power of the car unless you stick to somewhere like Bedford and it's never ending straight. Just look at Dan Potters video's as an example.

    That's a standard head and 225 injectors

    My Arctic Monkey's - 172 Cup & 182 Tubby

Chasing bhp is really pointless in a Clio, you'll end up like this guy who can't use the power. Having been in Clio's of various power, 230/280/300 and 400 on track, anything above what this car currently has can't be used properly. Rather than chasing power, fit a diff, a set of ASTs and...

    My Arctic Monkey's - 172 Cup & 182 Tubby

Interesting to see where you go with the 182, imo it doesn't need any more BHP but does need handling (and reliability) mods to make it a good track day car

    Tom’s 55 ‘RB 182’

Yeah, pulled the rail and pointed them into a container. My 3 was at constant cycle and was obvious to spot, yours might be a failing one. @dann2707 does an injector cleaning service for cheap enough and then replace them if he can't get them cycling

    Tom’s 55 ‘RB 182’

Mine was an injector, which the lambda was then going mad, changed the injector and it took a few miles to clean the sensors up and all was good again

Mr Plums Progress.. Clio 182 Turbo!

As it's been to EFI, Chris would've pointed out if it was overfueling & fixed it. As the compression readings are so close, even if you've done it wrong, I'd say it's fine.

    Chris's 172 Cup Turbo

I'd look at a lease car, new car, knowing it'll start and work every day = heaven. Plenty of decent deals out there.

    My 172 Turbo

In all honestly, I have no idea. If someone came up and said here is £5200 they could have it as I could break it for that. I REALLY want a Megane 250/265/275, but I have no use for a second car as it doesn't get used enough to justify so having another £2000-12000 invested in a car isn't wise...

    My 172 Turbo

Odd, how 20 minutes of track time can remind you how much you like a car.

    My 172 Turbo

A video of a terribly slow lap at Silverstone, booked late track time and didn't have a chance to swap from road pads & tyres. But lots of turbo noise for your enjoyment.

    Exclusive 172 p1

Beaniesport Chris, it's his mate Jamie who has had and broken them since I've had mine

Exhaust hanging kinda low in the centre section

The mounts have probably failed from being old and the weight of the new system

Contemplating keeping my 182 as a third car

Mine is a second car which rarely gets used. Costs me £250 a year for insurance on my 172 Turbo, pay it in one go and it's done with. I'm with Keith Michaels, so it may be worth shopping around. Tax comes out monthly, and I SORN it for months at a time. Before owning this one, my Cup lived...

    Chris's 172 Cup Turbo

I'd stay with Cup shocks tbh, unless you spend lots of money then coilovers aren't worth it and if you spend lots of money then it's compromised on the road. Even my B14s are awful on our lane, great on smooth roads but then not fantastic on track Looks fantastic as always Chris.
