New wheels and tyres. They get me away from using spacers on the rear too!
Old wheel weight 19kg
New front weight 12.6kg
New rear wheel weight 14.7kg
Total saving of 21.4kg unsprung! Which in this is worth 10bhp/tonne!
Trial fit
Footman James.
I pay £177 a year for my Red one. (5000 mile limit)
I pay £231 for my Blue one with 3 track days covered and agreed value of £15k. (4000 mile limit)
Like I said still a good time.
In my Westfield I can do a 2:14.5. Loads of places I could be faster if I was a better driver. So to do the same ish time in something weighing 200 more kg is awesome.
Winter strip down started. Time for it to be a money and time pit no doubt. Hopefully will be looking different for next year.
Worryingly I found I was missing 4 bolts out of my inlet.... I'm guessing they weren't ingested!
Lee it would be wrapping this.
So:
Nose cone (Removable)
Bonnet (Removable)
Scuttle (Removable)
Sides (flat)
Rear (flat)
The front and rear wings would be left black/carbon. The rear wings are detachable so getting to the back should be fine. The only complex shape there is, is the nose...
I use a Garmin Virb currently.
I'm not happy with the GPS refresh rate.
So I think I'll go, Galaxy S6 using Harry's laptimer, 10hz GPS for position and speed and a bluetooth odb reader for the car data.
It was 4 years since it was last used in anger. Since then it'd done 36 miles. Picking Snetterton where on Bentley straight it was riding the rev limiter in 5th all the way down probably wasn't the best place to break it back in....
Dave doesn't map any more sadly. He hangs about a bit though. He didn't think we'd see over 190 with a 7800 rev limit.
They did say the lotus lot would buy my engine for about the same money they could sell me a 260bhp 2.3 Duratec for. So thats an option in the future.
