Did a similar thing at Silverstone in a GT3. Found it fun, but also quite difficult on the dry surface. Started to click when you realise it is more about throttle input than it is steering input.

Was testing at Brands today. Bloody rubbish, about a bzillion red flags and split across two drivers i got about 4 flying laps in. Still, nice to have some proper power and no major issues with the Duratec so far...

There is the Open Class for basically 'anything else', but they all have a power-to-weight limit so we are competitive with each other as well as the 2-11 class.
When the series first started, the Open Class was truly open, so you had VAG power and Honda Supercharged cars. Only this season...
