Sorry to hear about your crash mate, and glad your ok. Just out of interest was the injector rail protector intact on the car? So many people rolling around without these (as the bolts and fitment isnt great, i have a low tech solution to keeping it bolted in solid on mine), and in a big head...
Yes thats a pretty rediculous price..............will no doubt be overdue on the belts, theres no such thing as a mint used car, bodywork wise it looks good, but i wouldnt be paying that for it.
Denso Iridium Power are the ultimate in my opinion, i use these in mine, sorted my low rpm miss fire and runs like a dream since with a smoother idle plus they last alot longer. I took a 4 year old set out mine the other months (mine gets driven very hard 24/7) , looked still like new after...
Need a picture of the said issues. :) Definately do not rotarty polish it if your a novice, your asking for epic fail, especially if its a lacquer blend or very thin applicaiton of paint..
Its not looking good ill be honest, but as stated above you need to wash the areas. I assume thats deep black, there are a few shades of that colour......and one has much more metalic than the other, which looks like your issue.
(Simon @ SprayShack) Sorry to hear that you wont be racing next year james, but what a superb end to the year with a very deserved win. Many thanks for all the photos you posted of the car etc and i hope hear it will be racing soon again.
Cheers,
Si @ SS
Its not profit exactly is it, balance out the time and there are much easier ways to make £500. If you enjoy it , fair play, but i stand by my comment, there is no bargain in buying a rough 172 and fixing it up, you paid what it was worth in the end.
There is no such thing as a bargain Clio Sport.......by the time you add up what you spend you might as well of bought one needing no work, it will be worth 1500 all day long once done and thats assuming it looks the part bodywork wise, but thats about it......even if you do it on a serious...
Lots of tells, it will also look pish poor in person body work / alignment wise ive no doubt, if its not a sport.......its not a sport, its just wrong!
There *should* according to renault be a sticker on the back of the rack, the alternative type are special order (i was told), typically when i did mine i ordered the common ones and mine was the longer ones like yours. As stated above they should have used a specific tool, but you should be...
PM me if your serious (or call, address is on the web site), i can only supply it painted to match your car , i would pass the trade price directly on to you for the parts, we only make money on the spray work.
Theres a guide on it somewhere on Clio197.net i think, here you go (very similar to how the audi do it.)

Run run....run away now, WTF is with everything still in situe and prepping started.......jesus christ, strip first (and i mean everything, door hands, locks, window seals etc etc, glass protected from the off or removed), prep later.....thats how you end in tears with a pillock and DA getting...
Renault are chatting out there chuff!
REAR BUMPER SKIRT - 77 11 234 117 , i imagine you'll be looking at ~£110 +VAT + p&p. If you wanted it painted (extra cost) and delivered to you, i can probably sort you out if you let me know the paint code.
If the price includes VAT , for a full bumper, removed / refitted without a lacquer blend then its fairly cheap IMO. Leave it well alone, dont wet sand it thats for sure, if its factory paint you will have to breath on the edges for it to go through. The most id do is a little polishing...
