Hi Lee, im happy to give you some advise on the above body work issues, personally id get the roof sorted (as it will rust) and the 1/4 sorted out as obviously this is very obvious. The rest id have a mobile dent specialist look at sucking them out as im pretty sure the one on the mid of the...
Excellent :) first time ive seen this all together interior wise, we did the interior parts a while back and we will be doing a few more bits for Wilson in the near future hopefully. Very tidy!
We use a mini blow torch (gas solder iron with torch nib) , warm up the 4 pins one at a time pushing the diamond at the same time in each corner as you warm it, it will pop out 100% intact. (They do need to get hot hot hot!)
Cheers,
Simon @ SS
We've sprayed one, we smoothed the letters off of the "Renault Sport" and airbushed that in again in inferno orange, the rest of the badge was 205-110 anthracite.........unfortunately i didnt take a picture or i cant find it atleast lol.
Do not put anything on the paint, i wouldnt even put plastic sheeting for long periods, a car cover will literally ruin the finish as it will move around in the wind, and will most likely press into the paint if you put it on tight. Personally id leave it "weeks" (its an unknown and depends on...
Bonnets are cheap, dont bother with a used one......and definately dont try and repair one, it will be a seriously difficult job to get it perfect if theres creases etc etc. For instance if you were having the spray work done by us then the part through us is ~£106+VAT, then £150 +VAT to spray...
Hi chaps, this morning driving in this started, lucky i was 1 mile from our unit, so i was able to stop before something nuked its self. As the car goes over bump (just moving it into the unit theres a kerb) it stopped for a second then when rev'd very slighly returned as loud as hell as...
Yep thats a good point Ricky!.
The decals are very durable on large stickers, get them made up in premium quality exterior vinyl and i doubt they will shift. However if its a gear stick lettering personally i wouldnt use any decals......one heavy handed moment and good bye small decal. I...
In the picture above (non CF ones), we dont lacquer vinyls, we mask and air brush, which is harder to get super crisp, but much much better as you dont need alot of lacquer to level it out as the paint is only a 10's of microns, and of course you can do any colour. Often on the CF ones...
You will need to flat it (dull the shine) before you lacquer, else there is a strong chance the lacquer will fail in the future as that base coat is cured fully now. We use a flatting compound, which is ~1000 grit to flat lacquered paint, combined with scotch bright pad, either way you'll need...
Have wings + bonnet......in the BG........fresh spray just needs a flat and buff to be absolutely mint, im pretty sure theres no chips etc from storage, but id need to check, obviously no warrenty on the paint, would be sold as seen.
As above....its 99% gonna need painting again if you do manage to get it off. You could try the cut off with string technique, but the scratches it makes **might!!** buff out if your very careful and use some form of lubricant. Once its off, you would have to get some panel wipe (very mild...
Polishing nooooo problems, if its been cured from the shop properly, you can polish within a matter of hours of cool down if using an ovening process. The best process IMO is a short ovening session, a couple of day rest time, then denibbing and detailing, the paint shrinks back you see, nibs...
Take them and have the professionally dipped, then lightly sand blasted......and i mean lightly you dont want a billy with a blower else they will be pitted to hell. Everything else you will be waiting your time with, if you dont have them dipped and just sand blasted, they will be heavily...
If they are the 172 style ones, they are a chrome finish, thus as stated above there isnt a paint code. The 182 bullets ones are painted rather than that crappy chrome that bubbles, i dont know of a paint code either for this, but id stick with something like IXELL 205-110 (anthracite) or...
You can re-lacquer them, sanding them back might be interesting as ALL the old lacquer will have to be sanded off, without killing the CF or damaging the weave, normally its quite thin aswell if its been applied over a standard part. Either way, if the old lacquer isnt completely...
Hi Talan, we can have mixed any shade, we have used the standard RB shade we have on both 197's and 182's with excellent results, but if there are any shade variations ill let you know prior to painting, i dont think theres any shades listed on the IXELL system tho :).
Hmm maybe they have been refurbed......hows the match on the caps to the wheel? sure its paint and not powder coat?. If you wanted something with a subtle fleck if its not a renault colour, try ford moon dust silver.
