Green Track Cup - Back To Basics

Had the car out on track last week and had a bit of a knocking noise coming from under the car so need to look into that. Also spun and collecting a cone adding a small dent to the back 1/4 so need to nick that out. The pic above was stole from Stu who I sold the car to a few years ago he...

Machine alloys or longer hub bolts?

I would think the excessive build up of paint/powdercoat on the wheel has more to do with them coming loose than thread length, at 7 turns you should have fairly decent engagement. You can see in the pic the way the nut has dug into the paint on the wheel, that should ideally be a metal to metal...

    group N cam timing

Did my first trackday last week since fitting the engine with group N timing and efi map . I was impressed with the power delivery , and low down torque out of tight corners. Has anyone ran group N timing with a turbo ?? As im planning on going turbo later in the year , would I be better to go...

Green Track Cup - Back To Basics

Few pics from yesterday’s track day, was fun to be back out on track. With the car not having the extra power any more to hide my mistakes I’m really going to have to learn to drive it harder

Green Track Cup - Back To Basics

My clutch and flywheel turned up today , thanks Russ I have my first trackday booked for this Sunday. It’s short 15 min sessions so ideal to give the car a shakedown. I will then decide if it’s worth fitting the clutch and a refurbd gearbox or wait until I fit the turbo engine later in the year.

It was on a DynoJet dyne so will be different to the readings the SLS guys have been getting at RA , we did pull my old engines graph it was 205atw on the same dyno, and was 190+ at Performance HQ . Would guess this would be closer to 155atw on the RA dyno

Green Track Cup - Back To Basics

Had the car on a friends dyno this morning to check the fueling. The engine was mapped by efi in Frasers car with group n timing, I have a 182 manifold and different exhaust but fueling still seems to be safe. If I was planning on running this engine long term I would take it back to efi for...

Will do . Like you say in a track car it doesn't matter but I know how annoying a rattly clutch can be in a road car.

As Craig says above I still have the clips under the screen which helps also make sure you have the clip fitted under the hinge as this helps as well, the panel still flexes but the pulls will work, in an emergency if the marshal brakes the panel then that's the least of my worries :fearscream...

    group N cam timing

Looking forward to getting my car out on track now , as the engine I just fitted (Frasers old one ) has group N timing and efi map. Im just hoping there was enough fuel in the map to compensate for any changes caused by my different exhaust.

    Poly window cleaning

Looking for the best product or method for cleaning the poly windows in my track car , they are showing signs of age and also have glue marks from previous decals/numbers. I did think scratch X on the DA but wasn't sure if it would burn easily.
