Today I made up some basic mounts for an alloy rad and mounted that up along with a new front grill.
Looks like there is going to be a delay with the hoses from proline so may just fit the engine this weekend.
Just now it's just cable tied to the dash bar , the plan is to get the car running again then cut back the rest of the dash loom and make a proper mount for the UCH.
What belt is required when doing the eps conversion , using the cup alt set up.
I remember it has to be one ply less to avoid rubbing on the plastic cover.
Yip I had an r8 around 5 years ago, just fancied something more useable ,but still nice to drive and holding value. They aren't massively fast but can be used daily , fun to drive and can comfortably do longer runs in it.
With being away for a month at a time with work I thought I best make a...
A little more progress made
Got the engine bay cleaned up ready for the engine to go back in
Got a gearbox painted up and bolted to the engine so it's all ready to re fit once the proline kit arrives, and fitted along the back of the bay.
I also picked up a spare engine , gearbox ...
Managed to get my dash pod fitted today still to move the kill switches.
Tomorrow my replacement gearbox ,coilovers and oz f1 alloys should arrive so next week I hope to have the car running.
Yip they look good and should keep things tidy inside and in the bay , its one of the few bling bits the car will be getting.
If I knew you were getting one could of just got Mitch to send the two kits together.
Made a start on tidying up the passenger side of the dash as Stu had removed the glovebox. Plan is to move the fuse box to the dash vent , and tuck the uch on a bracket. Kill switches will get moved to the new dash pod.
Garage is as bit tight justnow to do any proper work on the car
Pure shifter fitted along with sabelt wheel , also ordered an internal brake line kit from proline.
Engine will be coming out next week for a tart up , so ideal time to fit a brake kit
Thanks I dont think it will ever be back to the spec it use to be , but glad to have it back.
Hopefully this time it will stay as the original plan as a cheap track car, saying that i'm already looking at trailers, as really have no need for it to be road legal apart from testing it out.
Funny...
When it was ready for collection with a pile of bits. We dropped the engine and box I bought in to save moving loads of parts.
Will be weird to see the bay without throttle bodies.
But back to the clio :)
Its now tucked away until I get some time to build it back up , probably at the start of next year.
Just now is sitting on a set of Sparco Cromodora alloys that i have had sitting for a while that may become my wets , I also bought a set of OZf1's that will be going for...

Thanks John will try that now :)
Looks so strange seeing the car with no stickers on it .
when i sold the car it had the red and black then Stu had his sponsor logos on the car since.
Looking forward to getting this back out on track , been about 8 months since i was last on track and that was...
Managed to pick up a pure motorsport shifter second hand :)
I think that should be all the parts i need to get the car back out on track bar some new injectors and a fuel rail.
What site are people using to post pictures on here now after photobucket decided to charge ??
My mrs love my X5 , comfy with heated seats .
She doent like going fast so hated my Porsche , the R8 she likes but again get told not to go fast...
She liked the colour of my RB clio and will probably never be in my new one but again likes the colour lol
I bought the rolling shell back from stu and the same night did a deal with Fraser for his s1 engine that has been mapped at efi after the cams were set to group n settings.
I've since picked up a centre exit exhaust and a sabelt steering wheels.
Also have gaz coilovers , shafts , gearbox lined...
Sad to see it go Craig but sure what ever you replace it with will be just as good.
I might be back out on track more next season, can see a budget build coming on.
Thanks its probably one of the cheapest RB's for sale just now , never mind ones with recent belts and MOT . But with the car being in Scotland a lot of people don't want to travel.
