Mine did not seem too bad but I had a terrible vibration when braking (still stopped fine), felt like the discs were warped but on the way home with different wheels and tyres on it was fine, I can only put it down to the Dunlops picking up lots of rubber and and making it feel like the brakes.
My track car has its first MOT due soon, but I have been to a few places to ask about it as it does not have any seat belts (only 6 point harnesses) , airbags etc but most don't seem to know how to do a MOT on a track car.
How do you get on testing yours, and does anyone know a good place to...
I have always like the Corsa, driven them loads on track and always thought the VXR was good until I drove the Burg and Clubsport they are like a completely different car (on track anyway) I have never driven them on the road.
Get on to Renault CS, they are pretty good helped me out with a issue with my xenons on my 250 and my car has been out of warranty for over a year.
With a car in warranty I would expect everything to be covered except brakes and tyres like Daniel has said.
You could just take it to another...
For what you have said PS3's would be best especially with winter coming up, I have just fitted them on my Megane 250 and cant fault them as with all Michelin performance tyres they are good with all conditions.
If you were doing more trackdays the NS2R would probably be better.
I have a sealey vacuum bleeder that connects to a compressor, first time I tried it the weekend and I gave up in the end and did it the old fashioned way get someone to press the pedal down while undoing the nipple.
Thanks
The PMS linkage does rattle and TBH it does my head in when sitting on a motorway as it starts about 60mph, I have tried taking the knob off and greasing the spring also putting some foam at the bottom of the reversing shaft but it still does it, as Chambers_RS has said if you just rest...
LOL
I did a trackday at Bedford a few months ago (first outing) and it went really well, the only thing that done my head in was the wheel bolts having to be torqued up after each time on track so I got a set of high tensile stud and nut kit (longer studs on the front to accommodate the 16mm...
have a look at my build thread, I have full flocked dash, handbrake surround, gear surround, A pillars, steering cowl, rear view mirror
For the price I paid it was not worth trying to do it myself as I would not have got as good finish.
Just test fitted my new set of 15" Pro Race 1.2 with Dunlop DZ03G tyres.
These are going to be my dry set up and using Federal RSR's for when it is wet.
Just wondering how many of you have personally tried to fit 14" wheels?
I agree that they probably will not fit, but until they have been tried you don't know ( I apologise if you have tried them)
I was looking at a set of track wheels for my Megane 250 a while ago (all different wheels with...
I see what you mean about when it is wet.
Being only for trackdays I would probably come in and change tyres before it got too bad.
What compound was that you was using in the video?
I have Federal's for when it is wet and road (the car only gets driven to and from the track on the road), this set will only be used on dry days so getting heat into them should not be a problem.
I seen the 888's when they were about £70 per corner about a month ago, I was tempted but wanted a better tyre as it will just be for dry use and the reviews I have read the Dunlops are a lot better.
What are the Dunlops like on a damp track then? is it just a case of keeping the heat in them?
Cheers Tony
I know you use the Dunlops what sort of life could I expect out of them (it would be medium compound as I am having 195/50/15) for just trackdays?
Also have you used Marongonis before and is there much in it between the Dunlops and them?
why don't you just get the alignment checked first and providing everything is OK get them to take a bit of camber off, std set up (if cup packed) is -0.45` +/- 0.30`, so if you went on the max tolerance it is not much different to what you have already.
Anybody have opinions of the tyres.
These will be for dry use only as they are going on a second set of wheels, as I have Federals RSR for getting to the track and if it is wet.
The Dunlops are about £450 for four but the Marongonis semi slick are about £330 for four and the Dmacks are about...
I am getting a second set of wheels for my track car (brand new 1.2's) in white.
I would like them in orange but Rimstock only do them in batches so a very long wait.
Anybody have any ideas how much it would cost to paint 4 15inch wheels in fosus st orange?
as long as it stops or reduces the rattle at speeds around 70 that's fine as it only annoys me when I am driving to the track, it can make as much noise as it wants when I am on the track I don't care
After looking at that picture, it gave me an idea.
the shaft is only held down by a spring and it is resting onto a metal nut so at 60+ mph the vibrations are probably allowing it to move up and down on the face of the nut causing the rattle, and it can be stopped by resting a hand onto of the...
