@Steven103 Wouldnt the camber bolts change the dynamic scrub radius but not static?
Sorry lots of questions but Im trying to get my head round suspension geometry so I can start making more informed changes to the alignments and such!
@Steven103 Is what I just said correct because you know what you are talking about 😁
I was just checking up on anti dive as you just wrote. Does the roll centre correction kits that lower the bottom joint decrease the anti dive slightly?
@Eddie555 Will measure tomorrow mate. I just realised that rake is changing the number its not actually altering the dynamic camber, the intercept that goes through the joints to the ground points either further forward or backward with the rake change. But you will have a change in mechanical...
My wishbone bushes are powerflex adjustable, you can effectively correct some roll centre without touching the lower joints, so your caster stays the same. You would lose camber and some geometry's would change slightly. I talked about this with balance motorsport a while back and said we could...
I have no idea, never heard of them.
Its amazing how in 20 minutes you can go from wanting to develop the car further to not wanting anything to do with it. Why is there a lucky dip of alignments on these cars?
If there is a significant caster change, its just a thought, thats why mine has 4.7, because Im lowered on asts with adjustable top mounts and wishbones increasing camber, there may be an increase with the wishbones.
I dont know really but if theres caster change over ride height, your lower joint may have not moved, so youve gone lower with the asts and moved the joint back down to where it was with the eibachs. Just a thought.
Well just put it down to renault then. If you both have the same kit then I dont know. 60v54mm hubs, wishobones different or subframes different (theyll all the same but they're not, I dont know what to believe)
I reckon its the alignment machine then mate. I doubt it would on Eddies take away 1 deg just lowering the joint slightly. Admittedly I always wondered how you measure caster, until recently phil on driftworks did it on his porsche. He turned his wheels lock to lock on the alignment machine...
Dude wheres my caster?!
Red arrow shows new location for lower joint, thats what could of happened. Or that Im wrong, or the alignment people didnt configure for caster, or it wasnt taken into consideration in the design.
Are they configuring the machine to read the actual caster? Because when I got mine done with corner weighting it was 4.6 ish, then some time after a quick toe setting at kwik fit with tyres was 3.2
No such thing as an m10 union for 8mm line. Ive struggled to find off the shelf m12 8mm line unions. Going to message some breakers selling bmw pumps on ebay as they use those fittings.
If you can bend the line enough because it will stick out a lot with that adapter, but you need to make sure...
This one gives you 3 dies for less

lol yeah those type are useless. Ive been using a handheld one basically the same as I linked but just one size and its been great.
I think those types and the draper one are made the same bar the brand markings. I have a 8mm die already as I thought I could botch it in a vice but the lines as...
Im looking for something like this to do all sorts of din sizes if anyone has used one and can recommend?

They're both m12 on the car mate. They use thicker 8mm line for the 2 lines into the pump to allow a high volume of fluid to reach the pump quicker. Some cars have 8mm and 6mm or just a smaller line for the rears into the pump. Line diameter does in fact matter
Tuning Im not sure. Ive been to a couple 'performance' garages one was Balance motorsport for corner weighting and another a while back, forgot the name but wouldnt go there again.
