Like @krappy said, it's a support not a raft. The base has a fillet on either side down so wrap around the tunnel to make it more stable. It has made a difference but if I'm honest I think it's a bit overkill. I'm trying to work out a solution that wraps around the handbrake bracket to hold it...
I replaced the battery in the 182 and the first time I tried to start it, the starter motor cranked but it wouldn't turn over.
I tried again and eventually it fired up but idled at around 2k and there was no throttle response. The warning lights on the dash are shown in the photo.
Fortunately...
Yeah I'm not convinced but if I get time this week I'll give it a try, hopefully won't be too hard to mark up and measure
I was thinking of trying to make it "hug" the cover up to the same height then blend it into the rest of the holder to try and make it look a bit more OEM
Yeah you're all right hahaha, the design is a bit s**t but it was more to see if it fit in the space without hitting the seats, lined up, was stable etc ! I've done a black one which I think suits the car a lot more with rounded edges (see above) and added grooves to the bottom which sit over...
Can confirm it holds a large and medium haha
So I've done them in black now with a couple of designs which definitely look more subtle in the car. Much more rounded and less out of place aha
So my little lockdown project for the last few days has been to design and print a cupholder for my 182 since the stock ones are awful.
I've just finished up a degree in Motorsport Engineering so fortunately I have still have all the CAD software on my laptop, and my housemate has a 3D printer...
So I recently bought a VERY cheap 182 which I knew had some warning lights on the dash.
The engine warning light is flashing so I've sorted some new injectors and o2 sensors so will change them this week and hoping that is enough to fix it.
My bigger concern is the air bag and...
Yeah very true, thanks for the advice all. I think my plan is to explore the faults, see how bad they are and if they're easily fixable then get the belts done. There's no point doing the belts on a money pit!
Yeah that sounds like good advice, thanks! Any ideas roughly how getting a timing belt costs now? A mate at work said prices seem cheaper now that a few years back
Hi all,
I sold my 182 a couple of years ago to live the hairdresser life (mk2.5 mx5 phoenix, slid on roundabouts but was generally a shed)
However I saw a facebook advert at the weekend and now... I'm the proud owner of a BG 182 FF, exactly the same spec as the one I used to have ?
It needs...
Hi everyone. I am sure there are 100,000 similar posts but I thought for my own piece of mind it was probably best to just post my own.
I am going to buy a Sony DSX-A60BT for my Clio 182 but just wanted to double check what adapter I need to get the stalk to work with it (and if there is any...
The guy I bought it from 2 years ago said he disconnected them because they leaked constantly. Sadly I have no idea how he did so, and after trying to get the bumper off today to investigate and finding 4 of the bolts holding it on are completely rounded off I have no real means to find out. I...
Hi mate.
Thanks for the advice. I tried this today but 4 of the hex screws holding the bumper on (2 under the splitter and the 2 holding the arch liner to the bumper) are completely rounded off and I have zero chance of getting them off. Even if I do somehow I would not be able to refit them...
thanks for the replies. Yeah what I'm saying is they need to be working to pass the MOT so is there somebody local that would be willing to help or is it something that I could do myself with relative ease?
I would ideally buy blanks and fit them and take it somewhere else but as I have...
Hello everyone, I have just posted this in the Southwest Forum but I thought I would post it here too
Here is my situation. I took the car in for it's MOT today and it failed. What it failed for is inoperative headlight washer jets. They were disconnected by the previous owner because they are...
Hello everyone,
Here is my situation. I took the car in for it's MOT today and it failed. What it failed for is inoperative headlight washer jets. They were disconnected by the previous owner because they are notoriously sh*t on 182s and they leak which just drains the bottle. The garage gave...
Thanks! Yeah it's really nice down here, came from just outside London so it's pretty different. What kind of thing does your uncle do?
Thanks for the invite, that could be doable, I'll have to see how things are nearer the time
Just moved in to Penryn near Falmouth in Cornwall and thought I would say hello. Once I'm settled I would love to come to some meets and get to meet you people.
Anyway, hi :)
Hello everybody.
I've had a search and I can't find anyone with this problem.
Basically sometimes (I'd say 8/10 Times) when I have just started the car and drive off, it will move off and at around 10mph (without changing my foot pressure on the pedal) the power drops off and it holds at...
I fitted a piper catback system to my 182 today and it all fits well was a doddle to fit. However when I was underneath I saw something that scared me at the front of the cat (which I didn't detatch) and then when I drove it there was a HUGE leak which wasn't there before. Here is what it looked...
I quite like it, would it be possible to have the exhausts in the standard positions on the 182 with the diffuser or is that impossible? It just looks a bit odd seeing a clio with twin rear pipes so far apart
