    Renault v Ford

The new Fiesta ST is an absolute peach, but I'd be happy with either!

    Porsche 917K

The revs begin after 50sec ish: http://youtu.be/YAzY9A5Ek0E

    Porsche 917K

I was fortunate enough to be in the Silverstone wing when they warmed up one of these cars prior to one of the historic sport car races at Silverstone Classicthis year! I can upload the video to YouTube if anyone's interested?

    Another dephaser thread!

Mine sounded very simliar before it was changed too. Does it only make that sound when the engine's warm?

    Sump plug washer(s)

I've always given sump plugs a good nip up. Something around 25Nm would be enough I would've thought, but don't try and tighten it too much. It's only a plug and not part of a stressed assembly after all.

    air con delete devalue car?

This is probably why it's not particularly effective - in those 3 years you've given plenty of opportunity for things to grow inside the plumbing. This. Air con is great in the winter for de-misting windows (says the 172 Cup owner without air-con)!

    Stall, running rough when idle

The idle is a bit rough on Clio 1*2s even if the timing is 100%, and you'll feel a slight wobble occasionally when sitting stationary. When you say 'stopped water pump leak', are you saying that there was still a leak from that area after a new one was fitted? It's possible that it's been...

Few spots around Norwich - Saturday 20th July

What colour 182 do you drive? I'll keep my eyes peeled!

    my new toy

It's as if it's simply a case of bolting it in! Change of number plates and fogs back to standard would be a good start I reckon.

best way to replace dephaser on 172

Save up your money and get it done by a specialist. An old dephaser won't do any harm in the mean time!

Few spots around Norwich - Saturday 20th July

I've seen it on other occasions too! As I recall it has non original cream coloured alloys - the make & model of which I'm unsure of - and the dephaser sounded noisy.

    F1 2013

I like the idea of having some classic content! But I wonder if the tracks will appear as per their 80s and 90s layouts. Brands Hatch has changed a little, and of course Imola did after the events of '94.

My BG 182 after AF Tripple/C2v3

Looking very fresh indeed - excellent work! :) I vote Focus ST-2 for your next motor; that 5-pot sound is Dodge Viper esque with the right exhaust.

Few spots around Norwich - Saturday 20th July

Between 15:00-16:00 ish I spotted an arctic blue 182 on Chapelfield Road, and on Grape's Hill a black ph2 172 and a green ph1 172 (an Exclusive?). Then at around 21:45 that evening I was wondering up Prince Of Wales road when I spotted another arctic blue 182 (the same one as earlier?) outside...

Non-sport with 'one of a kind' 182 style exhaust... [Contains LOL]

Haha this is brilliant. Someone actually took the time to fabricate that thing! And would you look at those tasty aftermarket tail lights too!

    auxillary belt fallen off

Exactly! It should be about how much a car is worth to it's owner, not the marketplace. And think of all the classics we'd be without today if it wasn't for a few people spending a bit of money here at a time when the car's value was rock bottom! Anyway, on topic; ParisPeach - it could've...

Lost the owner's manual I take it?

    Trackrod end??

This. Took me less than an hour to do mine & I'm not what I'd consider to be a 'pro'!

    Agreed - factory fresh!

    pagid discs from ECP.

I have Pagid discs and pads all round and can't complain - they're absolutely fine for road use.

    Weirdest Clio...

Bahaha that is brilliant! I suppose the Vauxhall GSi badge adds a few hundred bhp ;) Reminds me of the other day when I saw an Audi A3 with what was quite clearly a Renault 'Sport' badge tacked onto the bootlid.

Water Pump & Drive belt kit on clio 182

You should try doing the aux belt on a 172 cup - 10mins ;) Although in fairness I did spend a bit of extra time cleaning the pulleys before I put the new belt on.

    Air filter options and opinions

I decided to go for a Pipercross panel filter, mainly from a long term maintenance point of view (I wanted one that was reuseable) and have been happy with it so far :)

    K-Tec engine & gearbox mounts

I renewed my mounts with OEM one bar the dogbone mount which I've polybushed, and I'd say the set up is more than adequate for road use.

    Audi Quattro

The 80s really were a great time for motor sport; Group A touring cars, Group B rally, Group C sports cars and of course turbo-era F1! Love the Quattro :)

Best way to fit fabia splitter

You can use the tabs on the splitter make it project evenly along the bottom of the bumper, or at least that's what I did and it worked nicely! Find and mark the centres of both the splitter and the bumper too - it'll help you align them more accurately relative to the nearside and offside of...

    Dephaser?

I weighed up the idea, but decided I'd get it done by a professional for the sake of an extra £150.

    tyre pressures ?

33 psi front, 29 psi rear, though obviously you'll need to increase those pressures for when carrying heavier loads.

    Black 172 - UEA, Norwich

Went for a swim earlier and whilst walking back to my car I noticed a black 172 ('02 plate) a couple of spaces along. It looked in fairly good nick! Anyone on here?
