I seriously doubt that is a lasses car. More like he put it in her name for the "lady owner" vote. However most worrying, it showed 63908miles at MOT in 2011 then 17002 in 2014... In fact, can anyone explain the MOT history as it looks fishy as f**k to be fair around that time.

These aren't the best runners when stone cold. Mine hesitates and holds back slightly for 30sec when first driven cold then suddenly is fine.

Yeah. Much better than it was. Stiffer than standard 172 cup springs I had on for a bit, settled well enough and feels more planted on cornering with the good rubber on.

Text upside down. removed the old ones and there was a pig tail bit where it wasn't flush on the bottom so fitted the same way. Only knock is from under the front seats so not suspension related I don't think and was present before fitting these. Bit of trim or exhaust moving/bouncing I think

I'm running these springs and car handles fine with them. So far so good for the money :smile:

FINAL UPDATE (RESOLVED)- Turns out it was the torque brace. The garage said that the bolts were too short and weren't securing it properly in the right position so the driveshaft was moving with the stiffened suspension and rough surface on the road and causing the brace to knock on the engine...

I'm thinking it's the driveshaft as I've had the torque brace secured and the knocking remains but stops when dipping clutch. The squeaking that happens too stops when steering left slightly. However, it looks like my hubs have had abs sensors at some time (172 cup) so not sure what driveshaft I...

How does the dogbone contribute to knocking? I have a similar issue and not changed mine yet. Had the car in 1st at garage and the engine moved/knocked when the clutch was lifted to biting point. I get a rhythmic tap tap tap and a squeak outside and am sure a rubbing/grinding noise.

Any previous owners for YK03VBM? I know Ross on here (can't remember his user) used to own it and @Andyrg@ ClioTurbo has long known the car but wondering if any others about?

Can the carbon canister click loud enough to sound like a knocking in the offside wheel area while driving?

My mechanic suggested it's just the carbon canister clicking. Possible?

Had some spare time today so had a go at the rear springs, BEFORE AFTER And to make sure everything was sat right, I went for a spin to give her a wash and check tyre pressures :) Sits so much better now and feels more settled in the corners

Much work involved to get them in? Obviously new mounts, loom needs modded, custom driveshafts, custom DP, clocks ecu and key?

@Andyrg@ ClioTurbo is the guy to ask. It's his company. Took my Clio there for belts and dephaser done and a few other odd jobs and can't fault him from a personal point of view.

Hi guys, I have a bit of a crunch on my 3rd gear. Having flushed a little oil out the box with new oil, it is really black to coca-cola coloured. How old is the oil likely to be? I was tempted to drop the oil out, add an anti-friction additive and new 75/80 GL4 oil and see how that was before...

My quick video. What I missed was the black connector in the C pillar- it pushes together to release not pull or twist. Yes a new base improved it 100%. One from a scrap yard like mine was should be cheap as chips and will verify that's your issue.

I've just changed my aerial base on my 172 cup. If you want I can get you a quick video showing how to remove the base and where the connector plugs are. Obviously if you have a centre rear seat belt you'd need to work around that too.
