If you're gonna use a gen90 then you can use the standard throttle body, if you use another aftermarket ECU then you might need to convert to a cable throttle.
If you buy a new ECU then you can ask your builder to build it to your needs, so you can have launch control, anti-lag single coil packs...
There we go then, get the new belts put on and count yourself lucky. For piece of mind you could replace all the valves, but you're not gonna know how much they've been touching without taking the head off...
Exactly this. So you put the engine under a bit of load but not 100% and get loads of different heat cycles through it to help bed the rings in properly.
Possibly a jumped belt. When the timing is being advanced it's causing the valves to clip the pistons and make the 'farting noise' you describe. Unplug the VVT solenoid and see if the noise stops.
Possibility....
Boost control depends on which ecu you use. Most aftermarket ecu's will control boost. Im sure the gen90 will control boost?
You can buy a cheapy dawes device type manual boost controller but theyre not the best. Or go for an independent electronic boost controller like an AVC-r or gizmo if...
Such a fookin fast car!
Went out for a bit of a blast tonight when Craig picked the bumper up. Verrrry impressed, and i gotta say the power delivery is as good as if not better than any turbo car I've driven, instant power and torque. The throttle is a 300+hp button with a loooad of grip...
100% that's a big end. It's a very distinct noise. Every one I've heard sounds just like that. If you knew what you were doing it could be fixed with second hand rods and crank for not that much money.
Exactly right. That's why I think a 2860 is such a well suited turbo. On an F4r it's not too vicious when it comes onto boost, and if you want you can taim it further with the mapping, and pulls all the way to the redline.
The 225 turbo is very sudden when it comes on boost and is asleep by 6k...
Looks good. My only critisism is the intercooler, looks a bit OTT. I prefer summit a bit more subtle. That's why I kept the slats in place on mine.
Spec?
