It's cos you rag it around everywhere ;) Plugs, oil, oil filter and maybe HT heads could help, but then you would need to check out stuff like lambda sensor I think.
Yeah I've used that, with a home made gauge/straightedge (bit of box with two long bolts through it, locked in place with nuts, so you can make sure they are the same height - then you can drill more sets of holes for different sized wheels).
As said, you need to adjust tracking separately...
Cheers guys!
Managed to get out on Monday, car felt pretty good. Just making a few tweaks and trying to get used to it really.
Found this vid from a guy in a ~220bhp Mk2 as well:
https://vimeo.com/43482881
Got the stickers slapped on and got a few pics, this is probably the cleanest the car will be for the forseeable future (ever?) :o
Cheers again to Jonny at http://www.ubersticky.co.uk (for all your vinyl cutting needs) and http://www.carpromos.co.uk (check out his track day / sprint /...
Thanks dude! Hope yours goes well too :)
Small update:
Stickers arrived this morning!
Huge thanks to Jonny at UberSticky.co.uk :-)
Will get them on the car and some pics sorted later...
Cleaning cars (yeah, yeah, I know 'detailing' is different!) isn't something that interest me at all - but that was a really cool video. It was great to see all those different angles and bits of the car in awesome quality!
Yeah, a few more would be good, but I am sure the series can grow with the right exposure. Haha, yep, it was like watching Mario Kart, they are quality!
Not a hugely exciting update, but I have a spare bit of time now so thought I would stick some words and pics up!
Here's a picture to break...
Yeah, the car went to a chap in Wales a few weeks ago, as Andrew was struggling to get info about suspension and engine parts :( Bought my Clio from me instead, going back to what he knows :)
Do it! It's well worth it, you learn so much and it's awesome fun.
Thanks dud e- to be honest that is pretty much a 'highlights' video, the rest of the footage is me backwards with the clutch pressed down heading for the grass :)
Haha - sorry :rasp: To be honest you can do it on the cheap, one...
Pretty sure mine did it because there was some air in the system, check the pressure sensor for leaks, its down near the dipstick/by the rad, got a wire going into the top.
My first drift day, footage from the morning when I was crap, camera died before lunch Still, awesome fun!
The surface is deliberately low friction, then they wet it, so it's very easy to get sideways And you barely wear anything of your tryes (less than 0.5mm a day).
Would love to have...
Cheers Russ - how far along are you at the moment?
ARDS passed this morning :)
To be honest the test is very simple, written bit slightly nervy but we got some good 'strong advice' from our instructor, Malcolm Barfoot (who is one of the founders of ARDS). These included 'All the flags are on...
I should be getting car 25 (as seen above) in the next week or so.
Budget... trying not to think about that, haha. I don't really have one, I had a quick think a few weeks back but didn't go into much detail.
Having done that now (maybe a bit late? haha), it looks like a full first season...
Cheers guys!
Was very kindly sent a free ticket/paddock pass and car parking pass for this weekend's races at Croft. I went up yesterday to have a nosy round. It was a brilliant day - a huge thank you to everyone who made me feel welcome. I have never felt so integrated into a group of...
Good price that! I don't mind paying the £30 as it's literally a few hundred yards away and that only works out at 57p a year ;)
I read that a lot of them are too busy to 'mess around' with this sort of thing so ask stupid prices in an attempt to put people off. Then if it goes ahead, happy...
Just called the MSA, uncorrected vision is no problem at all, they are mainly concerned with corrected vision scores. For this I was more than adequate at 6/6, and probably would have got to 6/5 if I was given the chance. Details here: http://www.nanyang.com.sg/dvision_test.html
Well, that's the medical over and done with. £30 lighter for 15 mins work, but was cheaper than I was expecting given some of the other prices I've seen!
Used my 'normal' GP (I say 'normal' as I haven't seen one for 11 years!) and everything was fine. Was pretty nervous beforehand as I had...
Haha, come see me at a race and I'll sort you out with one!
Thanks, small update going at the bottom of this post...
Yeah, pretty late and quick decision! Probably just Anglesey this season (16-17th June), and a few trackdays to get used to the car.
Thanks Jay, I'm gonna try and keep it...
Foreword: This is a copy and paste from a different forum, so it may seem a little out of context at points, but it seems a few CS members are interested too so hopefully it will be useful info :)
Hello all,
After reading Alan's blog on mx5nutz forum (here), I decided it would be good to do...
Some clips from Anglesey on Saturday. Quite a few Clios out and about, there should be 1 or 2 clips in this vid.
Skip to 6:50 if you want to see me getting it wrong :o
Thanks to Apex Trackdays for the top organisation and friendly atmosphere :)
