Some good info here: http://www.racingonthecheap.com/recommended-reading/carroll-smiths-handling-guide/
As others have said, would be tempted to look at the 'human-based factors' first, the setup of your car seems good so shouldn't have excessive understeer :)
Haha, yeah it's a bit misleading. Yep that's about what I paid. Kam racing and K-Tec have them too I think.
There is some chat about them falling off the backings, and my RC5s did just that, but I was assured by K-Tec that the bonding process changed for the 5+ compared with the 5s I had...
I rarely use my car on road, mainly on track.
Up front: Brembo HC discs, RC5+ pads
Rear: Standard Renault discs, OE spec Ferodo pads (~£16)
ATE fluid, standard hoses.
Never any fade or change of pedal feel. Works fine from cold, when hot I only ever brake with the ball of my foot, there is...
Re: 172 Cup Interior, inc door cards, roof lining, radio, seat belts, plastics. Ends
Hey man,
The rear was already stripped when I got the car, so I don't have it, sorry!
(Rushes off to check listing to make sure I haven't made a huge **** up, lol)
Cheers
Hello all,
Having a clear out and got some 172 Cup interior on eBay, still at 99p with no reserve: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Renault-Clio-172-Cup-Interior-inc-Door-Cards-airbag-radio-speakers-seatbelts-/220968401256
Any questions, just shout!
Cheers,

Yep same here. Usually when it's hailed at like 3am, and woke all the neighbours up, haha.
You can turn the alarm off by turning the ignition on, off, on, off before locking the car.
A Westfield AND an MX-5.
I think he means INSTEAD of spending such a large amount on a Clio, you could buy a faster car than a modded Clio straight off, for the same/less money.
Supercharged MX-5 or reasonable Westfield (etc) spring to mind as cars that would keep up with a quick Clio, for the...
I *think* it's down to an air lock in the system bubbling out the reservoir. I made a catch tank for it, which did fill up ever so slightly on track the first few times I used it, but since then it seems to have stopped.
Most of the problem was immediately after I'd fitted a new sensor and...
Yeah, my RC5s did exactly the same (these are RC5+) - I contacted K-Tec before buying these and they were adamant that the issue had been rectified, so fingers crossed...
Hi gents,
After a second opinion on these pads please... They have done one track day and a few (maybe 100) road miles. Box specified no bed in required but I did the usual 60-15mph medium stops a few times to get them warm and scrub them in to the disc. They work perfectly well but the edges...
Rear pads - I've got some Ferodo OE spec ones that were about £15 I think, work fine.
For the front, not really sure of good road pads, sorry. All my research/use has been for track use...
What do you class as stupid money?
For the rear, general consensus is that standard is fine - I only really use my car on the track and have found that too.
Thanks for the input gents - much appreciated!
I can see how the plastic shims aren't up to track use, so first thing to do is get them changed I guess :)
Toe at the rear is current 10 mins in (standard seems to be ~0.5 deg toe in...
I understand that - I was saying the adjustment must be very limited, sounds like it's gone from 0.5 standard to 0.75 which doesn't sound worth it to me, could have fitted some camber bolts instead.
I guess Mike was hoping for something different, which is why he's peed off. Given the lack of...
I understand how you would adjust the caster with the top mounts, but wouldn't the camber adjustment be very limited without using camber bolts? That's how I set my camber anyway, camber bolts.
But yeah - string :headno: 0.75 deg camber is kinda pointless too as standard is 0.5?
I'm not very experienced with this... but surely the top mounts have nothing to do with how much camber you can run? Sounds a bit fishy and the garage haven't done a good job at all :(
The rear camber adjustment is literally just shims between the rear beam and stubs, so it doesn't change the toe anywhere near as much as when you adjust camber up front :) http://www.k-tecracing.com/show_product.asp?id=3630&appid=2
Yeah, 1.5 rear camber is standard according to the geo sheet I...
