Yep! I've got some of the Federals and they seem pretty decent:

I haven't used the Yokos, but I...
Massive bump but... had the same issue myself on Thursday, also on track. Never done it on the road. Same as this guy: http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?547693-Any-ideas-%28power-steering-fluid%29&highlight=power+steering+fluid+cap
Seal for the cap seems to be sealing fine, breather...
Can't help you with the thread sizes off the top of my head unfortunately, but on my 172 Cup the rears were 7mm head... However - they didn't match left-right, so I don't think they are the standard ones!
Nice idea for getting sheared ones out :) Haven't got any welding kit myself, but I reckon...
Hi guys,
Went up to Cadwell on Thursday - first time there, amazing track and a great day out. Put a video together, there's some of George (G 172) in it as well :)
Whining noise is power steering... pressure sensor split after about 15 mins of track time. Luckily the Renault dealer in Louth...
Put 100 miles through them at Cadwell yesterday. Copied and pasted from another forum...
I've not used 888s before, but have used Dunlop DJ01s (which I believe are the older version of these: http://www.demon-twe...nlop+track+tyre). The Federals seem just as grippy in the dry, maybe not QUITE...
Interesting point well made. I guess it's a similar scenario, although personally I couldn't bring myself to spend so much on insurance since the overall money loss:money spent ratio would be much worse for the guy who's spent the £8k on insurance!
You *can* do it without modification of the bumper, but this may not be the best way...
Attempt 1: http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?565345-172-Cup-Track-Project&p=7590058&viewfull=1#post7590058
Attempt 2...
Ok, here goes...
Tools:
- Jack and axle stand(s) - I did it by only lifting one side (passenger) of the car, but it's a bit of a squeeze.
- 13mm socket/ratchet
- Copper grease
- Maybe a wire brush if there is a lot of rust
- Hacksaw (fresh blade very handy!)
- Something to scratch a line with...
Thanking you! More to come I'm sure... haha.
Actually made some new visors yesterday, a lot easier and neater this time. The B&Q '32mm pipe clips' are actually 35mm and this is the perfect size to clip on without any sort of 'shim' (cage is 38mm).
The main sheet is 1mm HDPE this time, much...
Yep! Just a 13mm socket needed. But...
You do need to do that ^^^
Seems about 1:1 ratio, so if you chop 1" off the selector shaft (solid one, male part of the assembly) it'll move the gear knob back about an inch too.
You can just jack up the nearside of the car and get to it from there -...
Got over 25kg out of the front of mine (trim, carpets, sound deadening, door cards, radio, etc) - that's without taking into account rear seats and rear trim/carpets - plus a bit more for changing to front buckets.
Hrm - cheers for the heads up guys!
I had got a quote from Brentacre too, looks like I will be using them next year unless they are loads more expensive...
Ah you would :) In fact you probably could have carried more speed in a lot of places, the suspension on my car is pretty firm so it was bouncing around a lot!
I usually take my bike to work as well actually, haha. If I'm in the car though I only go from near the Black Bull pub on Station Road...
Never a good thing! haha
If you guys fancy it I can try and organise something with a bit more notice next time? Sorry it was so rushed this time, got a 'free' weekend to myself so I like to come and go as I please :rasp:
Got back about half 8, sorry! You missed some nice roads - nice and quiet traffic-wise too! Just making a quick vid...
If you wanna nip out tomorrow just let me know?
Ah good man! That's exactly what I was saying to myself as I was cutting the seat mounts out - 'point of no return here we come..!' - haha. You did a nice job, better than me actually :) Excuse for me to buy a Dremel...
Look forward to more pics dude!
