Re: MX-5 at Oulton Park (Trackday, quite a lot of sideways action, then some dry laps
It's just time in the seat, get your daily on some wet winter trackdays!
Yeah man, it's a decent little gearbox.
Haha - yes, and yes!
Re: MX-5 at Oulton Park (Trackday, quite a lot of sideways action, then some dry laps
Oh bugger :( The race spec one? SHaring a garage with a black one?
I have done the same before, lol :o
Re: MX-5 at Oulton Park (Trackday, quite a lot of sideways action, then some dry laps
Cheers guys - was a fun day!
Also had a blast in my mate's Clio, made me want one again :( Even pretty standard (bar Apex springs and a rear ARB) it was so good.
Hello,
Here's a vid from Saturday at Oulton. Was freezing cold all day, and rain overnight meant the track was pretty dodgy early on! It dried throughout the day to end up with an almost fully dry line.
The vid is pretty long... The first bits are most entertaining I think, then maybe the...
Cheers, glad it was useful.
Yeah, I wanted to avoid the 'wallet racing' scenario that seems to happen so frequently...
To be fair, in MaX5 I can't think of any instance of deliberate contact being made between two cars all year. Ma5da is different, though...
Yeah, definitely seems the outside is the best way - and keeps you out of trouble :o
It really is great fun, and since the cars are pretty strictly regulated you can't just go and spend a load of cash to make your car faster - which means close racing.
You can build a car for about £4k if you...
Hello all,
Here's a couple of vids from this weekend... If you haven't got much time, the 2nd half of race 2 is the best stuff I think. I'll work out a 'highlights' list later...
Race 1: Cut short cos of a little dink...
Race 2: If there's not a lot happening out front, look at the rear...
Plenty to choose from - get on it!

Lots of filthy BMWs were there...
And I...
Looks like great fun. Line into Redgate looks like a good 'un!
What are you moving onto if you don't mind me asking dude? A different race series? These reports are always good to read :)
The latest update in my blog comes from Snetterton, August Bank Holiday weekend. We were on the 300 circuit and shared the weekend with the 24hr 2CV race, truck racing and others which were a good watch!
I had to go to a family do down in Kent on Saturday night, which meant a relatively early...
24hr 2CV race at Snett this weekend... Apparently its not.uncommon for them to go through 3 or 4 engines! They can change one in about 10 mins though... Comedy!
No probs :race:
Haha, yeah, taking measurements off bodywork isn't ideal really. Have a look here: http://www.negative-camber.org/jam149/technical/alignment.html
