You can get the the starter motor out through the top without moving the manifold. It's a tight squeeze and takes a bit of wiggling but it does come out through the top that way.

Resealing rocker cover is a big job, cambelt off job to do it. Looking at that pool of oil in the pic, sure it's not just oil that's been split down there?

I've come across quite a few strange things whilst owning Clios but this one is rather weird. With the engine running, everytime I press the brake pedal the lights on the speedo light up and once i take my foot off the pedal they go off again. It's not putting the side lights on, or any other...

You need a long bar rather than a hammer to hit the starter. Also rocking the car whilst in gear can help. I've been through the whole dicky starter motor issues before, even did a Chester meet/drive with it like that even managed to perfect a technique of bump starting my car on my own lol

Try resetting the TB. Disconnect the plug from the throttle body, start the car and it'll rev to about 4k IIRC. Turn the car off and put the plug back in the throttle body. Something similar happened on my Cup expect mine was cutting out and wouldn't idle and the above sorted it out.
