Ah Budgie states, These cars are easy to work on. Nothing is hard to do, biggest job is may be the Clutch and thats not even hard!
at £990 from a garage then thats a cheap car.
i wouldn't think so mate. even if the starter was stuck it wouldn't blow the fuse straight away so cranking a Hight Compression Motor isnt going to cause that :). or my ITB HC unit was fine, infact it fired up better
Try what i suggest first :)
simply replace the "Remote" wire from the starter to the relay, i guess you have a break in it causing ti to earth out on turn of the key when that remote wire becomes active ( only on 3rd turn ) :)
If i was you id get the garage to agree that they send the ECU to a Renault placing such as Rs tuning in the Uk and get them to see if its been mapepd for a "un biast" review, make sure you get the serial number off the ecu first ;)
id never use a crank that had a spun bearing on it, the heat transfer will have been likely caused damage, i don't like regrinds either but i bet you can get a decent 2nd hand crack cheap enough
the engine went POP, they told you you needed a new engine they should have checked the car was running correctly or find out why it went pop in the first place, unsure if the laws in Spain are the same as UK
Lesson to all us car lovers! i always use a insurance broker called, "Keith Micheal PLC " And deal with a gent there called Gary, the car is insured to the value and full spec of what the car has, so if a claim arises the car has a full value including all the additional items, such as wheels...

be interesting what clutch is in there, "may be" a Andrew Page special Drive master unit that they sell for £44 quid, that when i once had a clutch done years ago by a local garage is what was used and exactly the same symptoms, garage refitted a LUK and fixed the issues.
Its nice to see the...

Fantastic spec, Looks the Balls. Ive had too many of these babys now to know there NOT cheap to play with or fix for that matter, But the power output is amazing even at 400bhp there mental! Mates just built a 2.2 Stroker and is running 700+ its apparently uncontrollable e:)
