I take it you are on about front ones, you didn't say that on your pm.
Never had any trouble with fronts since the car was built, 5 yrs now.
Red ones aren't cheap, but there you go.
Just make sure everything is in good working order, if you are cooking the brakes, I'm not going to say you're doing it wrong as the brakes do get a little hot (not much room under there), removal of the fog lights to get some more air in there helps.
Apart from that, leave it as it is, forget...
I tried to get these as a control tyre for the French Trophy/Tricolore Trophy, but it wasn't completely down to me, and the deal fell through.
Good tyre, used in the BMW compact cup as a control tyre.
