It's quite high mileage where my Clio is low mileage and been faimily owned for 7 years and maintained mainly by Fred before he moved and then engine dynamics
The Clio is good spec too!
I don't really know what mine is worth
54k
Fsh although needs belts as 20k on them but nearly 5 years ago...
I have been asked if I want to swap for a civic type r for my 172 cup.
My cup has 54k on the clock and 3 owners
The civic 138k and standard with fsh
Would I be foolish swapping
It's a deep cycle cell battery. I only use the car at weekends so left all week and seams fine , have one in my m3 and starts it with ease.
Weight is 6kg so quite light but has screw terminals so you have to change that about.
Hi
Thought I best give the old girl a better clean up as the last owner(my brother) hadn't cleaned it in years!
Snow foam, clean, speed glaze and wax it came up nicely
Got rid of the huge ugly Ariel they put in these and got a tiny bee sting Ariel for £3 and it looks pukka
Nice beading...
It's ok I know what I want too do with it and the stickers are staying.
The bullets and rear wiper blank will be removed soon as the bullets are cracking and the rear blank is warped
Had a little tidy up of the intake and battery area
Painted the alloy pipe in engine enamel black which looks much better , also I got a new air filter as the RAMAIR filter was knackered.
And now after,
Sounds even better with this filter on too!
The oil catch tank is almost ready too
Hi
Decided to fit a race battery I had sitting around for my m3 and thought it made sense to put it in the Clio.
Standard battery isn't heavy but not 5kg like my race battery. Also I wanted the room so I could put my oil catch tank up front.
As you can see it's very tight on space
Induction kit...
Had a hour free today so carried on with a few jobs.
Removed the flapping panel on the tailgate which was held on by one screw and got some clips.
My brother left it like that for two years!
Much better now and cost under £3
Hi
I just got a oil catch tank for the 172 cup, it's a 2ltr tank and I'm struggling to find somewhere to mount it. Any great ideas
So far I have it by the coilpack
Will it be ok there?
Hi
Was trying to kill a bit of time at the inlaws so gave the car a quick wash in between the rain showers.
Very much needed. Once I have time at home I will give it a proper wash, clay, polish and wax.
Also got the rear diamond cover off but need some tools to prise the front one off
The main issues are that everyone has f1 stickers and turinis
I like turinis but there are lots of different options.
I'm siding on some chunky 5 spokes in a grey colour
I quite like the stickers so there staying
The dewiper blank is airbrushed by sprayshack so staying for now.
I think I will get new wheels as not keen on them and a dam good clean and wax
Hi
Only a small update today
Decided to add some small stickers to try and break up the blue.
Car is still dirty but it was raining.
Just some engine cover stickers as like the yellow against the blue...
Hi guys
I thought I would start a project thread to keep progress on my 172 cup.
Now I bought the car of a cliosport.net member and my BROTHER so I know the car very well.
So the story goes my bro doesn't know about contraception and is now expecting his 3rd child so he needs a bigger car...
Hi guys
I need some advise , my steering wheel is melting a bit and thumb grips are broken.
Now I know I'm bloody ugly so I can't afford to loose anymore of my looks so is there a safe way of upgrading my steering wheel for a smaller and more sports oriented wheel without loosing the airbag?
Hahah
The mouldy mc Donald's and ground in dog hair!
I'm actually going to completely strip the interior just so I can clean it properly.
It hasn't been hoovered in 3 years!
I have race my own Clio in my m3 and it couldn't put handle it and that's without the straight line speed added to the advantage but with a set of front discs at £378 pads £200 and when a gearbox breaks it's a grand without labour and a engine will see a bank loan being take Out to rectify.
Now...
Oh
Has kw v3 coilovers, 911 turbo brakes etc etc
Just I fancied a cup and got offered one so took a punt . I'm sure il get Carried away as looking at turbo setups already
I was more thinking fun as the reason the m3 duties are now shared with the Clio is cost.
I'm hoping I can still have a playful chassis with oversteer to enjoy
