Cheers guys.
Some obligatory pics...
She isn’t as clean today, but it was a bit snowy up on Saddleworth Moor at 7am this morning ☺️
And I shall keep the name then. You guys are right. Tradition and all that

Massive thanks to @Degsy1967 for being an honest and upfront bloke.
Just got home from a 7hour round trip after purchasing and picking up D11CUP. What an absolute cracker of a car. Never seen a used car look so clean and well looked after. The car is a credit to all of it's previous owners...
😂 I gave up. We were saving for our own house and a wedding, and decided we would have one car. Due to my work messing me about at the time, I decided to sell the Valver. So, nothing as interesting as being locked up I'm afraid!😂
Bit bored after work, so cracked a beer and was looking through some old pics, so thought I'd start a car history thread...
No photos of my first car, a 1987 Mk4 Escort 1.4l. Woeful car, 5 doors and slow as s**t! Wrote it off after crashing into my neighbour's van
Second car was a 1985...
I know what you mean when you say it feels more refined. I definitely don't find the GTi boring though, I suppose I find it a bit soulless though. It doesn't seem to have any personality. My EP3 Type R felt like an animal in comparison even though it was a standard car!
Looking forward to...
No, the dealer told me he took it part ex 4 years ago and has had it for sale for 2.
Judging by the condition of the interior and the thick layer of dust it’s been sat in that garage for a long time!
looking at selling the GTi on and replacing with a 182. Had a few Valvers in the past, so know I liove Clios.
Anyone gone from the GTi to a 182? Any advice?
So, I've just been to see an Inferno 182 with both cup packs at a garage in Halifax, its got 106k on it, looks tidy in the photos, but its at £2,695, so for that price i'm expecting it to be really tidy with a massive wedge of history!
I gets there (only local, hence me looking before i've sold...
I know exactly what you mean, the prices of Valver sand Williams has gone through the roof at the minute. I would love another 16v but realistically, it would have to be a weekend toy, and that’s what bikes are for lol
I guess it’ll have to be the old ‘try them both, see which one fits’ malarkey!
It’s not too bad if I went and got the 182, you hardly ever see 1*2s on the road anymore anyway, let alone a Cup!
But there will always be that niggling feeling for me if i ever saw one!
Do they drive pretty much the same? Would i notice any real-world differences?
My head is tellOMG me to go for a 182 FF, but my heart just can’t get past the Cup, it’s the colour and the wheels and the Cup just feels a bit more ‘special’ if that makes sense!
Admittedly though, I would really miss the Xenons from my GTI. But I’m assuming these could be retrofitted from a...
Hi guys, haven’t posted on here for around 12 years. Sold my last Valver around that time and have missed it every day since!
Needed to free up some cash and decided to be car-less for a little while, it lasted 7 years! I then decided to go to two wheels and have had bikes for a few years, got...

What are the top 3 things that you love about your clio???
my 96 Valver:
1. The induction noise - lovely burble as it pulls through the revs
2. The Bonnet - one of the nicest vented bonnets ive ever seen
3. The performance - never fails to impress me.
