Be easier if you reattach it to the hub, will stop it rotating.

Put a jack under it and jack it up, if it still spins, you will need to cut the nut off. Use a nut splitter if you have one.

Sounds like you need a new CAT fitting kit, buy genuine parts from renault Wolverhampton a trader on here. He is away till the 28th, but if you call them, the guys in the office will sort you out. Don't use silicone or paste on the CAT fitting kit.

Wheel off, Track rod end off, count how many turns so it goes back on in the same place. Then cut any ties holding gaiter in place then pull it off iirc. To seal the exhaust, use high temp black silicone.

Put your hand on the track rod end and follow the bar back till you feel the steering rack gaiter. Is the exhaust blowing.

Rev Counter, Speedometer, dashboard lights all not working.

Stab in the dark, loose connection behind the clocks may be. You would need to remove the top part of the dash to have a look. Someone else may have a better idea though.

    Front ABS Rings

I ordered mine from here, fits and works perfect. http://www.ukpartsdirect.com/abs-reluctor-ring-428.html Not sure on how many teeth you need, I know it was 44 on my 182 FF, may be different on a 172. Ignore this bit though.

Well! Thanks for organising this Don, great day out. Shame about my running issues related to the plugs having a bath, but made for a good banter (Thanks to stokie4ker for the use of the RSTuner). Then there was my silly mistake to round the day off nicely. Thanks to everyone for running...

Thanks for the offer, I won't have need of the code reader any more. I changed my squib the other day and the lights are now off, might need a brake pedal switch. What I really need is a spare track rod nut. By all means bring your RSTuner, may be handy if anyone develops any problems.

    Brake Caliper Play/Rattle

Sliders could be worn, but that would be just a slightly educated guess.

I'm still coming, done the hub and shaft. If anyone who is coming has a spare track rod end nut, could they bring it with them. Mine decided to strip it self. Going to have a look in my shed for one but not hopeful. I'll post a link to Glympse tomorrow morning. See you all then.
