I am just canvassing interest on the possibility of putting together a "group buy" on Brembo Sport replacement discs and pads.
If I can get enough interest together then I will be able to get a bulk discount.
I will need at least 10 orders to kick this off but the larger the interest, the...
Please note that the order closing dates for shows are as follows:

Rotorstock - Closing date Tuesday 23rd May

A short lesson on Multigrades:
If you see an expression such as 10W-40, the oil is a multigrade.
This simply means that the oil falls into 2 viscosity grades, in this case 10W & 40.
This is made possible by the inclusion of a polymer, a component which slows down the rate of thinning as...
I'm not sure if this is a request for a recommendation but my concern is the use of an sae 60 when you seem to be a track addict.
Low drag and maximum power at the wheels being the objective, an sae 60 is the wrong choice. I certainly would not go higher than a 10w-50 or 15w-50 but the best...
Probably a bit overkill for a road car but it is a good oil. The Motul 8100 5w-40 would be more suited for road use and is a fully synthetic.
Also consider Fuchs Titan Supersyn SL 5w-40
Take a look in the members section of our website for the best prices

Use a 5w-40 synthetic in the engine and I would upgrade the gearbox oil to a 75w-90 synthetic as you are running 200bhp.
Silkolene Pro S 5w-40
Silkolene Syn 5 75w-90
Cheers
Simon
For the Clio we would suggest either a 10w-40 semi synthetic or a 5w-40 full synthetic.
The 15w-40 is a basic mineral oil and is the minimum spec oil to be used.

Simon.
I get asked many questions about oil so I thought a thread here for all oil related questions would be a good idea and build into a FAQ or reference point for others.
So, put your oil questions here but please give the following information if you would like a recommendation:
Make...
There are hotter spots in the engine than the sump at 130degC there will be hotspots of 300degC which even a normal semi-synthetic oil will cope with.
Oils don't just break down instantly, the polymers shear and the oil loses its ability to maintain the new viscosity (it becomes thinner at...
Let's get one thing clear, I supply 10w-60 and recommend it where it is appropriate for the engine or the application but conversly I caution against it's misuse!
I have debated this many times on many car forums and I know there are some that do not agree with me however I have never had a...
How long were you running at these temps?
The Pro S 5w-40 is happy for long periods at 120deg without shearing down, peak is 150+ in short bursts, yes its at its limit but it wont let go.
What has the oil done to bugger the engine exactly?
Cheers
Simon.
The Castrol RS 10w-60 is a hydrocracked mineral oil, it will buckle before a top quality ester/pao synthetic 5w-40 and definatley 10w-50.
The main problem with the 10w-60 is its just too thick for these cars, its not even mention in the handbook, SAE50 tops.
Cheers
Simon.
As a rule, the narrower the viscosity gap the more stable the oil will be.
EG, a 5w-40 (35) will be more stable than a 10w-60 (50)
This will explain some of the questions on this thread:
Why do oils lose viscosity with use?
Viscosity Index Improvers.
An oils viscosity will...
0w-40 is fine although Renaults recommendation is 5w-40
This is how it works!

Don't be daft, you clearly don't know what you are talking about. It's a race oil, a real synthetic ester/pao.
Please qualify your statement!

It's not a different viscosity, it contains a different addative pack which includes friction modifiers for the wet clutch.
So halfway to the truth.
