Crank seal and mapping. Meant to be at a Brands trackday on the 2nd July, cant see that happening now
I was told at the beginning of June that I'd have it back way before then, called today and no progress to report. I may have to look for alternative options if it continues I guess!
Hey guys, have an issue with my new alternator, it's the 110amp air con alternator but the air con pipe now fouls on it?! So I'm assuming that it's the wrong model?!
its a Lucas part, can anyone shed some light or has anyone else come across this ? The only other one I can find is the 80amp one...
Great build dude! Loving the details!
I'll be sticking a swirl pot on mine when it's back from mapping too, so interested in what your finished set up will be!
Bit of an update....
Unfortunately its going to be with Dan a bit longer than expected. The "minor" oil leak I mentioned to him actually turns out to be quite bad and he thinks its the crank seal.
Bit of a pain and unexpected expense sorting it out, but good knowing its in safe hands getting...
My car is with Dan (519) at the moment, when I saw him last week he said he wasn't working Thursday - Tuesday over Easter weekend, so that could be why.
Give him another go tomorrow
Teeny bit of an update,
I purchased some headlight blanks from CMComposites, highly recommended, and great quality! I'll be getting them sprayed gloss black, I would do them myself, but after the hard graft doing the flame red bonnet, I really can't be bothered lol!
I'm also taking the car...
Cheers guys! Yeah the cooler is all part of a trial, several people have given me tips etc which have been really useful, so we'll see how I get on, if it doesn't cool enough ill drill the cross member behind it so the air will go through.
Mapping on the 12th April!
I'm getting a bit confused mate.....same theory as bleeding a radiator I'm guessing? Back off the nuts slightly, let the air bleed out and wait gorgeous oil to drip out?
Ive already started the car too since fitting the cooler and all seems fine, that was without filling the cooler first?
Ah ha I see what you mean, makes sense that, didn't even know they existed!
Cheers for the advice chaps, I'll look to switch it round at some point just to be sure it's done tight
Cheers guys!
Haha! Good point Mark! I've not actually driven it in anger yet, so not sure! I can modify it to fit if need be tho!
HMS - yes mate, it was the only place I could think to put it that was out the way and still OEM-ish! If you zoom in on the second to last pic, behind the...
I did a few bits to my cup today so thought I'd share some pics and vids
I fitted an oil cooler, boost, oil temp and oil pressure gauges. Plus rigged up some dash switches! My flame red daily sneaks in to some if the pics too....
And some little vids too...
Update time...
I managed to get everything done today, and I think for the first time it all went without a hitch, if anything it went better than I first thought.
First up was to tighten up the an fittings on the sandwich plate, I removed the ptfe tape as advised by cupman, just to make sure...
