you are correct and my appologies , as it does look as if your cage complies with that update.
In fact that update my be responsible for the issue now faced by revised designs
And to further Back up Safety devises , as i sill get my blue book updates , this from custom cages looks like the relevant rule update wording , though no date is on it that i can see

Takes me back to cold days at lyden and will gollop and Liam's dad Pat ( they loved it so much they bought the circuit off McLaren )
Blimey I now feel old
I misunderstood your comment "only driving to and from track"
However my opinion on how soft cooksport are still stands
I think a good track option at a lower cost than ast and up (and having played with 3 way ohlins few people outside of pro Motorsport need or can set up correctly )...
No a cost thing at all , it's how soft they are , and honestly nothing about bragging rights or anything .
Obviously they are better than some 400 quid coilovers off eBay.
Suspension setup is something I have spent years understanding.
With all respect if you have driven to a track on them you...
Do you use the car on the road alot ?
Cages are fine at keeping a car intact in a big shunt but also ok if padded and the head the hits it is wearing a helmet
Full cage in road car , always think about what your head can impact even in a minor shunt
If a road car half cages are actually...
Was spending more than 6 k more fun ? hell yes !
Would I change anything if I did it again ?
Not much though I have had lots of track cars as I did my first trackday in 1989 and still on occations now
All I would do now is add another 50bhp and a sequential box
And all have been for nearly 20 years
Duratec is really the new kid on the block and decent xe's are getting long in the tooth now
Look around any club race paddock and see what's being used
K20's and Kseries were pushed as the next new thing but k series are made of cheese and k20...
That goes for any track car ever bought by anyone.
The best cars to achieve performance per £ are very light and use tunable engines that have reasonable upgrade costs
Usually out of the ford stable in terms of engines.
The most raced/tracked car in the world is the lotus 7 so anything...
as apposed to 10 years ago when the same charges were there ?
nothing has changed , though a few people have been chased for costs they tried to fight over big accidents
Just a consideration , buy a stock 172 cup and save the rest to buy something thats going to satisfy you , be faster , more reliable and not depreciate by being used on track

Wonder how many people realise you can be charged for barrier damage on any UK or European circuit ??
Just with trackdays you won't get charged recovery or downtime
It's also affected by rebound and bump settings
If not 2 or 3 way adjustable then the internal valving in the damper body needs to match appropriately
Body roll is also a consideration , that's affected by anti roll bar stiffness so there is alot to consider.
Lotus for example are renowned...
I have 2 low level alloy jack's
2 ton rapid lift , light to chuck in the car for track days and super low
Had em 10 years or more and only paid 30 quid for each
Everyone and his dog sells them these days
I'd recommend this for value for money...
Yep rears tend to hold heat in due to lack of airflow as the arches are like a huge wind deflector
Caterhams run fairly soft even in race trim so tend to be more pointy at the front
Just need to lean on that outside front as you turn in and not get too loud and over rotate ...... Although...
Fine but it was warmish , caterhams need pushing on to get heat into tyres so Clio should be fine
This time of year it's harder to gain temp due to cold track temps ,
What suspension setup you on , if fairly standard and soft it will generate heat
Have heavily angled my 2 27's I would have gone curved if I could have got a decent resolution
Curved IPS 4k and I would have gone for it
Managed 27's with no bezel at edge 2 to 3mm tops
Very impressed with 4k
