I'm gonna throw it out there but I expect they'll retain the OE throttle body to show case the Gen90 ecu capabilities.
Well if you like this your gonna love mine when its finished :D
If as Danny hints this is a conversion costing approx 18K then its verging on ridiculous.
I managed to build my 374bhp Trophy for comfortably less than 5K (not including the car oviously), so to spend a further 13k to achieve an extra 26bhp is a joke.
Thats if it is actually running...
Just found this on Reno's website and it states that the latest F4Rs have steel cranks
http://www.renault.com/en/innovation/stars-mecaniques/pages/f4r-rs.aspx
Anyone confirm if this is true? And if this lump is fitted to the Clio 200?
Whilst I can see how it could of been a cheap option by fitting the megane lump, I personally think you've wasted a lot of unessecary money fitting the internals. I would of sold the R26 and simply bought a log manifold and fitted a GT28 turbo then you would of only had to pull the engine apart...
So have you simply fitted R26 internals into your trophy lump and kept the trophy cylinder head and inlet, or have you used te R26 internals and cylinderhead bolted it to your trophy block?
You could of just used the r26 block as theres laguna brackets which you can use to retain pas and ac...
Sounds interesting, so have you just fitted the turbo from a megane? Or have you gone the full hog with a complete r26 engine and gearbox?
As for the wilwoods I run the JamSport set up and it's awesome, but if your on such good terms with Ktec I'm sure they will sort you a set out.
The basics of it are at a given boost pressure a SC set up will be flowing more air due to it not being restricted by a turbine wheel in the exhaust. However the more boost you try and produce with an SC the more you need to spin it and the more power it saps at the crank to do it.
Turbo...
Oh how I often dream of a 330bhp Clio cup LoL
MSO the reason the turbo set up felt so impressive is down to the extra torque a turbo set up produces over a SC set up.
Mike, is this a low boost set up on standard compression ratio? Or a high boost low compression set up?
Also are you using the stock ECU or a stand alone?
The owner was at Mallory this morning had a bit chat with him whilst we waited to cross into the in field. He seems like a nice lad, I think with a little bit of tweeking and a new turbo it could be a right beast.
I was the same mate, I've got a track day booked next weekend and my Trophy is still away having a new exhaust made for it so I was going to use this on track then break it and sell all the bits on :)
I wonder if he had a friend bidding on it? as it only went for £2450
Rich remember that PH1s have an idle control valve, it's not the outlet pipe for that is it? My PH1 TB is at home in the garage otherwise I would go check myself :)
Not sure what you mean mate? you use an allen key to rotate it untill that little triangle (3 o clock position) lines up with the notch (5 o clock position).
Have you not got the service manuals? it describes it all in there. Fire me a PM with your email address and I'll send you a copy.
Steve
Just tried again mate and it says it's still exceeding your quota :(
PM me your mobile number and I'll give you a bell about meeting up for this line :)
