I've got a spare fuel line feed in the garage you can have to get you going mate, you got any transport at the moment as I dont fancy driving down to Darlo but can meet you at dragonville, durham. It's probably about half way from where I live. I'll PM you my number :D
Paul foolishly let me take this out for a spin today and I can vouch for it being awesome, the power delivery is so smooth and progressive it really compliments the chassis. The part throttle responsiveness is really good and allows you to hold a steady accurate line through bends before firing...
similar but not identical, the gearbox end is larger and it runs the water pump off the cambelt instead of the aux belt like the f4r found in 1*2. Everything else is interchangeable, crank, pistons, heads etc....
When I ran 341bhp the 1.5 dci (Jc5-128) gearbox coped fine and that included a track day where it was thrashed to death.
However once I moved upto 374bhp it wasnt long before I fired the diff clip out of it. I fitted a new one and had it welded into position, I then destroyed third gear, and I...
Re: Clio 172 cup turbo
Theres loads mate, especially in the north east.
AndyRG has a hybrid f4r/f4rt engined ph1
Owen has a F4rt engined phase 1
ND04 has a turbocharged 172
And I have a turbocharged 182 trophy.
Were all located around the Sunderland, Durham and Newcastle area so...
When you going to get a project thread up for yours Owen? Can't believe how smooth your power delivery was, think once you get the boost turned up a touch your gonna have a right beast as well, which is a lot more discrete than Andys lairy beast. :D
Is there any ITB clios around here?
Glad it's going well Craig look forward to having a catch up, will have to get Andy and Owen out aswell. The poor north east won't know what's hit it lol
I wouldn't get your hopes up about hitting 300bhp on the stock turbo and custom cams :S I think your looking at the wrong areas to try and improve. Obviously thats just my opinion.
Did you ever post the graphs up from when the engine was in the yellow shell and it was mapped at RStuning?
Yeah I know what you mean mate, too many people get hung up about how much boost their running, and how much peak power they have blah blah blah. They end up with a gt35 and zero driveability.
The only problem is the tuning options for the F4RT aren't brilliant, I know Andy has a few tricks up...
Sounds like we have a new challenger in the NE :D
I was having a chat with Craig and his Dad when he dropped it off at RStuning to get the conversion done but TBH I think he was keen to keep it all a bit low key, hence no threads or anything about it.
WoW, only £800 quid to upgrade the internals
I assume that includes a full new gasket set, new timing and aux belt set, fresh oil and coolant?
Obviously you also need to upgrade your fuel set up, fit an upgraded clutch etc......
Realistically (including labour) your looking at 2k plus just to...
Well if you really want 300bhp then your looking at forced induction on a forged lump and as you don't want to get your hands dirty you going to be paying a substantial amount.
If you believe that 300bhp will be as high as you ever want to go then speak to RStuning as I'm sure Paul and Specky...
