Search Snappy mate his workmanship is outstanding. Regarding stitching I had mine done in silver/grey to match the rest of the interior, maybe if I had colour coded dash strips then I may of considered matching them.
Can't remember how much it cost but considerably cheaper than a clio 197/200...
You'd regret it mate, I was losing 25bhp at some points in the lower rev range compared to the 2860 :-/
Laine have you got a link to the turbo you've bought? I've heard of gt3071r with a smaller turbine wheel but not a gt3076?
*Edit - just found it on ATPturbo web page
I think even using that you would struggle to get a 3" downpipe back past and squeezed between the manifold and bulk head. Lets be honest if you go to the extent of a tubular manifold you'll be running a gt30+ and will need a big downpipe. Fives have a lots of space at the back of the engine as...
I think it would be quite a big ask to try and get equal length plus the turbo above the gearbox. Where you'd need to loop the shortest runner to gain length is where the starter motor sits. Plus the downpipe needs to be ran back through there as well so its really tight on space. I wonder (if...
I think the normal gt3071r turbo is massively overlooked, ktec recently achieved 474bhp at the wheels with one on there clio, and best of all it easily outspooled a gt28rs and was running pretty low boost with a reasonable 1.6 bar.
With figures like that I'm not sure why Garrett bothered with...
I agree that the manifold is a massive part of them problem. My point was I've never seen a gt2871r make what garret claim on any engine, regardless of manifold, comp housing, turbine housing etc.....
Here's a link to a gt2871r, it claims upto 460bhp on a tiny gt28 compact housing. So I'm guessing that with your free flowing comp housing that you should be able to get more.
Really looking forward to your results now :-)
Laine, the catcam rods come with catcam con rod bolts, they're a different thread to ARP's so cross them off your list. Regarding Turbo's I ran a GT2871R on a .86 turbine housing, There is no way it will do 400+bhp on a log manifold your EGT's will be through the roof.
That's sh1t mate gutted for you, it looked as though it would line up fine on mine but because my sub frame was going off for shot blasting, seam welding and powder coating I didn't bother bolting everything together. Might modify my bulk head and use it anyway, regarding the telescopic column...
And my Turbo Trophy block lives in yet another Clio! The only thing I'll advise is get a custom downpipe made, every Clio conversion I've seen using the 225 turbo has been bodged to some extent to stop it touching the master cylinder, a custom down pipe would sort this out and it's not as...
Coops, when we were ripping round Mallory at Nat Day in 2010, I was using DS2500's in the Turbo Trophy and they were spot on, admittedly I'm using Wilwoods but I had zero fade all day and I was hauling it up from decent speeds :-)
It looks like the universal joint will sit in the cabin with the twingo rack rather than in the engine bay like on the Clio. The column is telescopic so you can shorten it to accomodate the UJ inside.
I haven't fully fitted mine yet I just bolted it to the subframe to see if it lined up ok and...
I'm the same mate, I'm of the age where I've driven cars without PAS and can't remember it being that bad. I think the reason guys complain about overly heavy steering is because their using the hydraulic racks and filling them with grease. We'll see how it goes, I do have a EPAS column to go in...
James, speak to Nick at Camcoats in Warrington. I've just dropped my manifold, turbine housing and downpipe of for ceramic coating but they do some new anodize coating

Custom 3" turbo back by Nortech
previous setup was a ktec 2.5" super sport turbo back set up, no centre silencer or cat. I didn't find it too offensive but my mate bought it off me for his NA 182 and it was horrendously loud
I put an oversized filter on there to make sure that when the bottom fed custom plenum was made that I could still get the normal size one off. It's now just stopping dust and crap entering the oil ways :)
Re: My Phase 1 ITB Daily Runner
This is my all time favourite PH1, not seen anything else come close. Was even tempted to restore my trophy back to NA and buy this to drop my new turbo conversion into
It'll easily hit 500bhp maybe as much as 530, but if I want 600 I'll need to move upto something like a gtx35. I'm not sure what my 870cc injectors are good for so they might need changing as well. The rest of the set up is future proof :)
