I am a little as it was quite clean for a gti as far as they go and for what it is.
But it's a track car, it's a risk you take, it'll be back out shortly.
If I wasn't booking a holiday and paying some bits off, I'd have it sorted this week haha!
Castle Combe yesterday, first track day off the year.
Didn't end well, first session I went out and some how the connection got fuel pump had disconnected, so got recovered, sorted that.
2nd session I went into camp corner a little bit too fast on a wet day and this happened.
Soon as...
Every time I come in this thread it makes me want another Clio.
Something about them I miss, and this one is exactly how I would build one given the chance again.
Very very nice car!
Thats my thinking, but not sure if I would see a benefit as from what I've read these engines bend rods at over 300/300.
Yeah man, get some vids up :) persuade me haha!
Got any videos off the exhaust?
Need some noise from my 225 but I'm undecided, tempted to go 3" turbo back as I would like to go for a bit more power 280ish bhp, not sure if it would help having a bigger exhaust or not.
So nothing has changed with this.
Booking castle Combe for march, so I'm looking forward to getting it back out on track.
Gotta sort a new battery, so it'll be a little lightweight one relocated from the engine bay so I can fit a catch tank.
Just got in from giving it a quick clean.
Gonna jump in here.
Saxo's/106's are brilliant track cars, the running costs are so cheap... can buy an engine with bigger cams and change for the price of an F4R belt change.
I've got a 106 GTi, with a fairly decent spec, satchel itbs, safety devices cage etc
Best thing for these cars is...
Nah supersprint sounds so much better I think! And I prefer the straight cut look!
I've got some GoPro videos I'll upload shortly off this and Joe's saxsport.
He did Joe, when I was looking at he he car a month or two back picking something up from Gareth, the pipework and intercooler sit too far forward to have an uncut bumper I believe.
It's actually further forward than the tow eye.
This is the cleanest 106 I have ever seen, properly well...
So this is now running the throttle bodies... What a noise it makes, it's incredible!
Went to llandow with @SimpleJoee on Friday and also met @Jimbob 2705
What a great track day, considering the gti only passed MOT on Wednesday and I had covered 20miles at most with the itbs, it got me to...
You drove really well dude, was great to see you out on track and stuck with the car, told you that you would love it haha!
No one needs itbs, it's just the sound [emoji23]
I may have left it a bit late once or twice haha! I can't find your thread to post in, but cheers for the passenger ride...
Not played this for a few months, got stuck on one part, then decided to leave it and wasted numerous hours on division.
Gonna have another go later, just I'm not sure wether or not to start fresh or try and continue from where I was.
So the engine I was gonna buy didn't come through, so bought these on the weekend:-
Satchell GSXR Throttle bodies and ITG Filter
DTA S40 Pro ecu and sandy brown loom
3bar Webber billet fpr
Expensive Sunday, but I can't wait to have them fitted, mocked then up on Wednesday.
As you can...
