Fired up an early access build of Wreckfest. It's one of few recent 'A' titled games that I had installed on it. Excuse the s**t pics, when I tried to screenshot it it wouldn't capture my FPS meter.
This is on a system with a 4770k, 16gb 2400mhz DDR4 and an old GTX 970.
I know. FPS and Hz sort of go hand in hand. To get the full benefit from phase1sr’s 144hz screen, he ideally needs 144fps. So the screens refresh rate is equal to the frames per second drawn by the gpu.
A 144hz screen will always run at 144hz, it isn’t really hardware dependant. The FPS...
I’m tempted to fire up my other pc when I get home and prove you wrong. I can get 70-100fps in most AAA titles on high settings with a GTX970. On the 1080 it’s always 120+
Regarding the nvme drive and faster ram, I was aiming to hit the £1100 price that phase1sr posted in the 1st thread.
I’ve tried to stay quiet but...
What shite are you talking? A 6 core latest gen i5, 16gb ddr4 and a 1070ti won’t hit 144fps? Nonsense.
Phase1sr, pay no attention. Your monitor is fantastic. This guy sounds like the kinda guy that goes about saying ‘the human eye can’t see anymore than 27fps so...
I had pretty much the exact same thing written this morning but I think I come across as a bit of a c**k in threads like this so I didn’t bother posting it, lol.
Imo, that £1100 pc I posted on the first page is still the best bang for buck system posted so far.
Lol, yeah. I've changed it since. Oddly, it works just the same upside down :/
Did you have much issue dismantling the radio fascia and the climate control? I'd love to do mine. Any pics of the process?
PCPartPicker will make sure your system is compatible, give you rough prices and allow you to purchase directly. I wouldn't buy a pre-built system unless you can get a bargain and it's too good to pass.
Building a PC is like adult LEGO, so don't worry about building it yourself.
4GB of RAM, Cheapest SSD. What money is on it?
You can change the ram but it's going to be £120ish and a decent SSD will be £80-120 depending on what you want.
You can also build mini PC's these days that will work out cheaper (and better all round) than a laptop. If you have a TV in your room...
Ohh.. I quite like those wheels. You've gave me ideas now.
If you're ever tempted to cut your rear bumper, I'd gladly swap you (with cash your way) for my iceberg bumper that already has a cutout.
Previous thread says it has the RSTuner chav map @imprezaworks
Where abouts in NI are you? Fancy heading to the RMS wild west run on the 19th of August? https://rmsmotoring.com/forum/threads/rms-wild-wild-west-run-19th-august.206596/
Same, installed and started back at 1.3 during high school. Back when it was a melt to get it running right and finding servers was a task in itself.
Sure, add me on steam: Synister (avatar of Jake from Blues brothers)
I played 1.6 for 8 years like an addict. I could never get used to 128tick servers, my nades didn't work and something just felt off, like my timing was off or something for my usual peeks. I play a game or so a week now, I have no idea how I used to sit and play it for 10+ hours. A good team of...
Can't be any worse than the Xbox crowd lol.
I don't find CS too bad these days, It was a lot worse at LEM because everyone was a try-hard but down at GNM/MG1 it's not too bad. Apart from the odd angry Russian..
CYKA BLYAT.
Where the hell did I get 10 from? Sorry, I got my wires crossed somewhere.
Even at 15, that system will blow his mind.
Is he watching streamers on Twitch or where is he getting the interest in PC gaming from? Do you know what games he's interested in yet?
5930k oc'd to 4.7ghz, 1080, 32GB DDR4 and it's mainly used for browsing the web/youtube and 3 or 4 hours of gaming (CS:GO, PUBG) at the weekend, lol.
To be fair, the rigs most of us have posted are overkill for a 10 year old. I would have killed for something like that at that age, but I think...
@Phase1sr If you want a hand to build it, hit me up and I can talk you through it. I would say to ship it to me and I'd throw it together but postage to N.Ireland is usually two-fortunes.
