I do love a good satchshift., My 16v s2 rallye was probably my favorite, it was rr'd on a very optimistic rolling road at 154bhp, It only had breathing mods and a set of cams, so I have my doubts about the figure but the car was stripped within an inch of its life and had B8's so it went the...
Had a load of 106's, S1 and s2 rallyes, 16v rallyes and a GTi. Stopped driving for a load of years and wanted another 106 GTi. Couldn't find one that I liked in my price range so ended up in a 172. Imo they're just a slightly bigger 106. Handling characteristics are very similar.
I challenge someone to buy a Caterham R500, Put the 2.6 TT Rotary engine in it, tune it to 1000bhp and try and drive it without traction control. You literally can't touch the throttle in any gear without it spinning out.
If the backbox was around £100-150 and stainless, I'd imagine they would sell well. Even if they offered no performance increase, I'd pay that for a stainless exhaust that won't need replacing.
I think they just come as you progress? I know you can buy the map for £2 in the store. Alternatively, you can look up the locations online and if you arrive at the correct barn/shed you get the car (from what I've read online, haven't bothered myself)
If you want it stupidly loud, go to a local custom exhaust place and they'll knock you up a straight through for a lot cheaper than a ktec etc.
I may also be interested in your old backbox if it isn't too loud.
Now, a properly sorted Clio Williams would be the job.
For a passion project, building a perfect 1*2 would be fantastic (maybe even with a small amount of forced-induction). You could abide by MSA rules and make a race ready version, there’s plenty of money around the paddock.
Obviously we...
It says in the owners manual you get with the car that the car runs on a cold map for 120 seconds from start. The idle is only usually a little higher than when it’s warm, not erratic though. I only ever get my idle messing about after a bit of spirited driving.
You're going to be out thousands in R&D. Then you're mentioning bespoke parts, paying people for testing, forging custom wheels etc and you still think you could sell them at £18k and turn a profit? You would need to have at least 20-30 confirmed sales to make this worth your time. Even then, I...
Literally the best stuff I’ve ever used. I replaced everything on my shelf with their products. They do a starter pack on the site for £50 that has everything except ‘purge’ which is their version of iron-x. It shifted stuff off my wheels that nothing else would touch. Use the code RMS10 for 10%...
-Wheels when they’re dry, or you’ll dilute your iron-x.
-Tar remover.
-Weak snowfoam dilution with TFR added, let it sit for 2 minutes and wash off.
-Snow-foam again, full strength and let sit for 5 mins.
-Car shampoo and wash mitt (2 buckets w/ grit guards) and powerwash off.
-Let it dry...
I’ve silicone hoses on my 106, have done for the last 4 years and haven’t noticed them degrading at all. I’ll have to pop it off later and have a check.
