Hey ivan, after doing mine id say budget bout 1 1/2 cans of paint, 1/2 can of primer and 3/4 can of laquer PER WHEEL if using the 600ml cans from halfrauds mate thats what it took to do 4 of mine with one still to do you'll spend 50-60 quid in paint on all four..

the ticking you can hear in the car is prolly the carbon canister hitting the the metal it's next too it's nothing to worry about, its a well known niggle..

THe fact that my gear gaitor clips have just snapped for the second time in 9 months and now i can almost see my gearbox falling apart underneath it...
French FTL.
You do know you need to let the laquer cure for bout a week other wise it will 'dimple' from impacts while driving (small stones bits of dirt) i found yhis out the hard way..
sounds like a faulty speedo drive sensor on the gearbox as thats how the cup reads its speed.. best get it to a stealer as a right problem to get to iirc? dont know bout the 'surge of speed' tho m8??
cant at the moment mate but it just looks like the laquer has run down the spokes and pooled at the ends... doesnt make seens as it was an even coat tho?
Hi All,
Ok ive been referbing my alloys and it came to laquering them this afternoon now i did the first coat and went check on them after 30mins or so and ive got kind of 'build up' of some kind at the ends of the spokes but i gave them an even coating in a warm room so i cant understand why...
Ahhhh ok Chris mate thanks for the heads up! oh well hope edde replies was just wondering really it did seem to make quite a dramatic diff when it was fitted...

Fred or Edde,
As you guys are the best people to ask.. when my 172cup had its mot last time the m.o.t place fitted a load sensing arm to the rear brakes rather than fail it.(not a great m.o.t place tbh) I noticed this improved the braking considerably on the 172, after it was noticed it was...
Maybe not if it was changing hands so much and/or in garages being repaired, dunno would check it more though, just putting in my opinion, good luck anyways man!
Not if your only going to local garage few miles wont hurt, i drove 7 miles with my top struts virtualy undone.. once they take it off put the other washer in hey prendo!!
Take it to a garage mate and get them to impact it off.. had so much trouble removing mine when fitting coilovers inc snapping a 6mm allen key bolt in the damn thing.. garage impact it off then finger thighten back so you can get home. jobs a good'un..
