Box with diff is here! Quick question.... With honda LSD I know if there is a bar across the input shaft it means it isn't a lsd box would this be the same for clio gripper diffs?
Honda ones are helical mind
Aye that was my plan, had a Honda civic with a helacal LSD before but never drove anything with a gripper, do they make any noises I should be aware of wines or anything?
I've done a deal on a gripper diff box for my track car I have a couple questions though.
Box is a none cup 172 box out of a 2002 model and will be going in my 2004 182 none cup clio, will this be ok? I believe it is just the spedo drives that differ however unsure on what boxes.
Also is there...
Yea it took me a good while to settle on the correct spring rates but after emailing a few companies and them all saying pretty much the same thing I went for that :) I'm on Newcastle mate there's not much round here other than Croft :( wouldn't mind a trip to castle combe though
BC do make custom rear springs I believe mate, I emailed a few companies about what the best rates to go with for my spec was which is why I settled on 8 and 10.
And yea hopefully! Will get it weighed once it's all done
Spring rates are 10kg front and 8kg rear dude, got them through kam racing, they were spot on so come highly recommended if you are considering a set!
Yea plenty weight to be saved, I'll be getting it on a weighbridge once it's all finished, I've no idea what sort if weight ill see.....All the...
They get a bad rep but with the pressures low enough on track they were fine!
Aye LY inside and out :) brembos are going red, all windows apart from front screen are going lexan so yea, should look and go quite well I hope :)
That video was on standard cup shocks with eibach sportline springs, carbon Lorraine RC5+ pads and toyo T1R tyres which I never used to rate but they held on pretty well round that track.
I did a fair few track days at that spec and it was brilliant! just wanted to go all out on this build...
Been quiet recently with progress.....weather has been poor and new job has ment not much time off, however plenty parts have been arriving :)
Bc racing coilovers are here, set of 300mm brembos arrived along with my new rota grids with 888rs...happy days!
Built up the cage today and started to do some welding! Love how it's looking :)
More treats arrived today, door card blanks and some powerflex rear shock bushes :)
Also ordered my BC Racing coilovers with custom spec spring rates....roll on next year's track sessions!
Thanks mate! Cage isn't actually fitted yet. The photo of it in a car was it in the guys car I bought it off! New mounting kit should be here next week then ill be welding those in and fitting the cage
Woohoo a weekend off! And even more of those to come now as I've just got a new job working for audi which means every weekend off :)
So today I fitted the vibratec engine and gearboxmount along with the powerflex polybushed dogbone....gutted I can't take it for a spin to see how it feels as...
Cheers for the kind words!
Well I've had mine for over a year now and used it daily for that period of time as well as doing a fair few track days, a descent set of brake pads and some eibachs along with some half descent tyres and you can really have fUn on track!
I'd say get used to the car...
Another little update.....
Rollcage is here!! Looks like an awsome piece of kit, also off to collect my PMS shifter and lexan window kit this week too.
All systems go just need to get the time off work now to fit it all!
