It definitely needs turning around.
You might get lucky if the fan and shroud can come off and be attached the other way.
Also, as they've put it on backwards it makes me wonder what the thermal paste application is like.
It is a lot of money but have you ever tried a controller with the extra paddles on the back or adjustable tension on the sticks? They're not for everyone, but really are much better than the normal ones.

I take it you have now disconnected the battery.
The lights being on would suggest a bad earth.
If you were going to take it to a garage to sort the starter out then you might be better off asking them to look into both issues.
So when you connected the new battery did you try turning it over? Just curious as to why you hooked up a new battery and tried to bump start it.
If the smoke was coming from the driver's side then it'll be the alternator.
I think I can hear mine sometimes then realise it's the heating 😂
I've set the top exhaust fan to run at 20% and it's still the loudest one in it, I need to swap it out for one of my noctua ones.
Not if he was the last one alive because he used his self-res and tried shooting me in the back whilst I was reloading. I still turned around and killed him first 😂
