With the standard wheels you would of got 16mm on rear with no rubbing. I had 25mm fronts then 10mm hub spacers with 5mm wheel spacers on rear and was spot on. Changed to Oz F1s and had to take the 5mm off and it still rubs
Cleaned it today.
I still have a driveshaft knock which I need to solve. It's a new driveshaft and Renault have said it's fine. I've taken a couple people out and they've said driveshaft too.
Hope to accumulate the last parts soon and then I'll be able to start building. Currently need;
Water...
I would still love another F4R one having a lot more knowledge than ten years ago but they all need a full restoration for the condition I'd want with arches welded so no water could ever get in!
If it can be used as standalone then it's an expensive way of using it as a piggy back. I believe they're £900ish at the moment + boost controller? Vs. £606 w/ boost controller?
That makes sense then. The AEM also has scope for more boost later by running a boost controller. Unsure if it can...
Adaptronic isn't standalone though as the original ECU is still in place, the only real standalone is a Gen90 and the new one Dan Potter has been helping to develop. It's a glorified piggy back ECU.
AEM can be mapped by anyone, the software is all open and not licensed.
AEM is £606 delivered with a map on and is about 12 wires to wire in.
AEM are also a MASSIVE company, all the Honda turbos use them.
With the adaptronic your paying for standalone but it is still only being used as a piggy back.
I'll still go for proper mapping at Engine Dynamics as it's...
Yes it's a piggy back. When running and fitting other ECU's (EC1, Adaptronic) the only difference is it doesn't use a throttle position sensor or lambda. It has a MAP sensor built in, uses the crank position sensor and controls the injectors.
I've got a wheel for sale for Xbox One if anyone is interested. I played 2015 and was like a different game with it
Logitech G920 Steering Wheel for Xbox One with Wheel Stand Pro...
What bracket style did you use? I've never used the standard alternator setup I'm sure? Only ever cup which doesn't use that bar? Or I'm remembering very wrong!
