Another year has past as owner of no. 89 (time flies!!!!!) and I wanted to do another update to reflect the second year of life with a V6.
I think another year has changed my views slightly, if anything its really made me appreciate what a special beast the car is. I've driven it a fair bit...
looks lovely mate!!!!
you can see the standard ph1 mesh in the mars vee there. its only the ph2's that have the black plastic grilles.
i quite like the look of it removed. bit more hardcore.
gp hands down!!! awesome cars.
will not loose much money on it either.
i swear you have posted about changing your car to a different one every month this year!! haha, make your mind up boy!! ;-)
sadly theres only one UK one without leather and after hes only just picked it up after wanting one for years i dont think he will be selling anytime soon!!!
might be able to get an import though if your lucky.
seen a ph1 on 92k whilst i was getting my car serviced, it still looked proper mint, apparantly was down on power, but still cracking on with it.
theres some ph2s in the 60k+ and quite a few of ph1's are 70k+
nothing wrong with it, as long as its been serviced well!
wouldnt put me off as long...
that was owned by a girl called gem and then a bloke called stoner who changed the wheels from standard.
over priced imo as it no longer has the standard wheels & i believe the private plate & recaros it once had have been sold. also this very car was up for sale for about a grand less in...
do you really want to be seen in a car that looks like this? :
If so, just buy a rep thats already done instead of ruining a great car.
One like this...
That last pic is great James, can really see the colour of it in that light.
Craig your mk1 looks so nice. love the illiad mk1's. If your going to change to a mk2, i vote acid!! :)
;)
looks pretty nice to me, is the rear bumper damaged in this pic? at the bottom on the right? or is it the picture/dirt?
i only ask as the rear bumper is £1,738.97 + vat from renault and obviously something you want to look after.
launch that car phone thing inside and i think you have...
^^ bloody lovely photo, really shows the colour nicely.
not sure if its just the lighting, but it looks one of the rear bumper grilles is on upside down there ;)
thanks for the compliment.
yeah they do fit (just have to change the struts too).
id like to put one a ph2 vee spoiler on it, but there not worth the £200-300 they seem to go for imo!! the standard one looks nice enough for me.
my mk1 v6:
mk2 gearbox
mk2 inlet plenum
full janspeed exhaust
live mapped to 253bhp by owen developments
mk2 rear lights, rear grilles and boot surround
streamline carbon fog surrounds

one of the better ones, but still made me lol.
Have upgraded from the ph1 to a ph2 gearbox in my vee and the ph2 is definately much nicer to use.
its still a good box, but the ph2 is just much better thanks to the changed ratios.
yeah i do, id rather scrape a £20 splitter on stuff than a £800 bumper! protects from stone chips and its fine up to 120 ish. might run it without for a few weeks and see how i feel.
it was a copy of the trophy one, only cost a few quid, really helped with pinning the front end down, but guess couldnt hack the very high air pressures!
the bloke who made it for me made a spare so i might put another one.
just got back, was a good meet! nice to see lots of different faces and eat some top chicken! :)
had a bit of fun on the way home experimenting with the differences in acceleration and speed between the 182 and ph1 & ph2 v6! I also found out that my splitter decided that 1.35 beans is too much...
