pretty easy to use, loads of threads and a guide of doing the remap on the fastchip website also. some say the mpg is better, but I'd go for this mod mainly for the smoother idle and better power delivery throughout the rev range.
let the engine go up to temp en rev it till it hits the limiter...
Instead of buying very expensive std leads (I just hate the idea of paying renault about 120 for some god damn cables) I was thinking about the magnecor red ones.
heard people say that magnecor (don't know if they were talking about the red or blue ones) don't fit the coil pack as good and don't...
having a set of lower offset wheels instead of spacers (let's say you put et 35 wheels instead of et 45 vs a set of 10 mm spacers) is going to affect handling like the spacers are supposed to?
good to know I guess
the std 182 wheel offset is ET45 so 43 would be the closest. you can go with 38 no problem though but if your car is lowered you may experience rubbing issues (on the arch liners or even on the bumper bracket). fair to say that even with ET 45 you can get some rubbing but with 38 the chances...
can't upload the jc5 template but anyway you get the idea.
many things to work on now, mounts, custom driveshafts, flywheel, gear linkage and so on. can't wait to see the car run ;)
we decided to mate a 02M VAG box to the f4r like Scoff did. so started with the first step: templates for the adaptor plate:
I think the new 6 spd box is a bit larger :D
do your best and get a proper air feed to the filter. silicone elbow might be helpful. keep the filter clean and avoid excessive oiling. As I said with a proper air feed and a remap you might gain something.
always dreamed of strippin my car and gettin it back together with attention to every detail. this is a good chance to prevent the classic french car squeaks and rattles! some nice upgrades there also ;) let us know the time it took you to finish this project!
good job!
maybe somethin clogged one of the hoses, maybe some debris you had in the tank, although I suspect the pump. take of the hose that leads to the bad jet before anything else imo and see if it's clogged
I'm not aware of such a guide but you'll need another reservoir for the liquid, the one from a normal 172, which has 2 pumps attached to it, then the hoses and the 2 bumper jets. not sure about the electrical stuff (wireing and stuff) but shouldn't be that difficult
you mean the driver's side...
if the carpet's wet you have to check under it. I think there is some poly sponge under or smth like that which in your case could be soakin' wet.. left like this it could take ages to dry
A friend has a r27 and after about a week of rain both footwells were absolutely soaking wet, the carpet...
If gaz coilies go on with the std mounts and the mark fish/ast mounts go with std shocks then yes, they should fit.
Drilling or not won't matter in the coilover/solid mount combo
the k-tec ones also need drilling (can't remember if the ast/mark fish ones need to)
they are all supposed to fit any...
