Hmmm. Mine also pools slightly around the bolts under the inlet.
My two have always needed regular top ups. I'd guess between 2-4l between 12k intervals.
Strange one.
Rob told me last week the only way to see if it's burning oil is down to smoke or residue on the rear bumper. If it's not a leak, then it could be using it. I actually think Renault say up to 1L/1000m is acceptable but don't quote me on that lol!!
Have you checked for leaks on the rocker cover...
Sorry, my maths was well out there, had to go and double check.
£1349 fitted and "mapped" (generic?) by Dan@519.
Less £450 for the usual belts so circa £900 for the cam's including fitting and mapping.
Price of cams? + extra 1 hours labour (at a guess) + couple of hundred quid for the map and...
The cam price is only 600ish though, when you factor in a belt change, so if it happens to fall at 72k ish/5 years it's not a bad investment.
Although I agree with Chip that it's dead money once fitted.
I had the same trouble.
Solution, big bar on the arb and wishbone and a large dose of MTFU!

FLOL! Needs eyes and mouth (disclaimer - eyes may obstruct actual drivers view, car may be incapable of driving itself, T&C's apply, see back of packet for more info).
It's not an original idea though, one of the chaps on the VX forum has done it before. :o Just seemed appropriate.
Very tempted to do the T if I every go, but the livery is quite hard to find so would have to be a custom jobbie.
