This is way too technical for me now lol :o
Rang K-Tec today about another issue I had and mentioned this oil problem, he said he wouldn't worry too much as these engines can use oil, surely by all means monitor it.
Chip, I'll keep you in the loop as to how mine is doing in due-course but...
All in all, I have ordered the rest of what I need to tighten/freshen up the front end today
This is what I'll be fitting when the rest arrives
Inner offside track rod (nearside done last year, so hoping it's ok)
Both TRE's
New wishbones & powerflex bushes
Powerflex ARB bushes
New steering rack...
Bit of a bump but my car is being a bit of a plonker this week
Heartbeat light comes on at random, usually after a bit of a spirited drive and the revs are limited to about 2.5k
No other lights on the dash or anything, get the occasional emissions light on but it always comes on solo too :S
Any other things I can check other than the breather and head bolts?
Mine has an ITG Maxogen and K-Tec sport cat, K-Tec supersport system if that makes any difference to oil use
My windows seem to be demisting a lot better now, but the recirculation button doesn't sound like it kicks the flap all of the time, is that normal? :S
Need to check on miles since last belt change, probably around 32k
The car is a November 03, making it 10 year old later this year - 2nd belt change required going by 5 year rule? I'm confused lol :o
So if the car is 10 year old this year (Crikey!) and the belts were done within the last 2- 2.5 years...
Still looking forward to a belt bill this year am I? :dapprove: lol
This.
I have a few bits sitting ready to go on when I get a day free;
New wishbones
Powerflex bushes
ARB bushes
Steering rack mount bushes
Worth adding TRE's to that, or even inner rods? (had nearside inner replaced within last year)
I had a leak in mine last year, turned out to be a pinhole in the metal part of the upper pipe running from the bottle to the pump.
The clutch-fork had been rubbing it to create the hole on the 90 degree bend! (where it turns along the front of the engine)
