Yeh I'd think you were right. I bolted that end up before the shocks/ball joints and you could easily feel it slotting in and out.
At least its done now and I know its meant to be like that
As above, I changed both shafts at the weekend.
With the ball joint and shock bolts removed at the passenger side, the shaft fell out the gearbox under its own weight.
The gaiter obv holds it in place but it seemed very easy to remove/refit.
I've always had shafts that bolt in in the past so...
Looking for someone who can diagnose a fault for me with my throttle body. Save me needlessly replacing parts.
Anywhere within 50 miles of glasgow/Ayrshire is fine with me for travelling
Recently bought this as a winter runner. It had a maaassive cliosport sticker in the rear window. Car has been in Scotland for a wee while but I think originally came from humberside. Just looking for any info on it.
Some updated pics
wheels refurbed, lowered on Koni shocks and springs, 172 front a rear brakes, new plate, new bushes, ball joints, track rods, wheel bearings all round.
And next
Plenty people in this country running that sort of power in vags. Removing the dual mass flywheel isn't a big issue. Solid flywheels are cheaper than a new dual mass anyway
Please dont paint those calipers with a brush :o
I done both of them with cans and its just much neater. I'll donate a can of paint and a pair of white or black stickers to them
Thanks folks.
Last night it got a new aux belt and tensioner (was squaling like a pig), and It got a windscreen washer pump (who removes that and doesn;t replace it?)
Tracking to get done at the weekend and then hopefully I can get on with the fun jobs of needlessly changing parts :D
A touch of lowering, sport grill, refurbed wheels, new steering wheel, and then maybe a different interior
She's already told me I've not to do too much to it
It came with them. Was pretty much the reason we chose it over a few others we looked at though. They're badly in need of a refurb.
Me either, they'll be getting changed very soon
My girlfriend has been taking lessons for a while and we decided it was time for her to get a car.
What better first car than a Clio DCi
Spent 5 hours or so on saturday cleaning up the outside, once all the green was removed it came up pretty well.
Has a few wee niggles to sort out, but...
They have lots of adverts at the same price.
I'd imagine its so that, when you phone to ask the price and they tell you that golf is £5k, you think its a bargain ;)
You can make them yourself no problems. Goodridge sell all the parts and all you need is a hacksaw and set of spanners.
Demon tweaks website has a pretty good parts listing but the prices are usually ridiculous
I bought some new pads, a new wookie and more opticoat since my idiot bro in law decided to take there 6 month old scirocco to the local jet wash and then proceeded to trail the jet wash hose over the bonnet of the car
I don;t think you really got my point. I paid that, and I could give you my car for 24 hours and you couldn;t find a flaw in it. I could, but I spend more time with the car than I do with my girlfriend.
I've had paintwork done from £50 to nearly £5k. And if you think you can get a quality full...
I paid almost 2k to have two sides, a bonnet and a bumper painted. And I can still pick flaws with it if I felt like it.
If someone quoted me £500 for a paint job, I'd literally laugh in their face.
