Finaly got the head screwed down onto the bottom end, Got the gunk out and gave it all a good wash down, left for a bit then wiped off.Later to come back and have a little mess with the pully and then to find out that its bent , both pully and water...

GOOD NEWS as they say 3rd time lucky
After rounding two of the bolts the other day finaly got them off before, took the sump and baffle out and everthing looks clean and NO swarf this time. Im really happy now which means i can now start to build it up clean it and paint ready for dropping...
As you know jamie i just kept having the same problem with those engines 3 fiestas and 5 engines lol, so decided to get the clio new start (the bottom end problem on this one was so i could put 172 in) but saying that ive had 3 172 bottom ends now and as they say 3rd time lucky woop

Got the bottom end to the factory and then upon to the stand, started to undo the sump bolts and two have rounded off (sighhhhh) rest of them were ok, so it look like a bit of drilling tomorrow to get them out
Got back abot 30mins ago from picking up my new bottom end, 450 mile round trip it was also stoppet off at willylovers(now cliogtt) house and got myself a williams gearbox, so thanks to both guys for those. Other stuff purchessed too :D
Im going to see if this bottom end is ok by craking open...
FINALLY the car is now back on all four wheels
Lowered the car down onto the topmounts to hold them in place but i cant screw the dampers down yet as i havent received the nuts from kam racing yet, i have the new style nut but they are such a crap design they chew the metal away and ruin the...
Going to near london on saturday to pic a bottom end up from dangerous_dave, he says it was rebuilt 5k ago so hopefully this will be the lats one i have to buy and everything will be ok with it.

Little more done over the last 2 nights
Lastnight i finished off the wiring loom and labled it, leaving me with only one or two wires to solder as i need some bigger heat shrink then its sorted. Ill be then testing it in the car first before i wrap it up
