Do the ktec DTH bodies make similar power to the generic Jenvey ones on high comp builds as well? I did notice the injector position was closer to the valve on the DTH kits compared to the generic ones.
Any thing is possible, but there wouldn't much point.
I'm sure I remember someone had posted up a pic showing the DBW TB connected to the ITBs. So it opened the ITB butterflies.
They don't work particularly well when a map sensor is used to calculate the load, that is the problem really.
I think your way is fine as long as:
You rotate the first t piece 90 degrees. I can't see how that would affect the pressure compared to your first pic.
And you do the engine bay the same as in the first pic.
It is fairly straight forward if you follow the manual, are fairly handy at this sort of thing and take your time.
I can send you the pdf if you don't have it just PM me your e-mail.
People will still spend a fortune blue printing engines, etc.
When I did grass track racing with unmodified minis some cars were still miles faster than others.
I can understand the 182 cup/FF choice for regs simplification even if it does seem to go against the conventional wisdom.
Will be...
That is an interesting read. Sounds like any exhaust louder than it left the factory is illegal although there is certainly some room to argue that the exhaust has not been modified but was designed that way.
It suggests top flight rally cars get single vehicle type approval, like a kit car I...
I did my last race on DS2500s as I'd worn out my DS3000.
They are now disintegrating lol but they were OK in the race, less feel than the DS3000 so I did overshoot a few corners...
I should mention they're a few years old as well and have done a good few thousand miles.
How do you remove rainx BTW? I must have missed a bit on the screen when I did the pre application clean and I now have a funny bit right were my eyes are that isn't fixed by adding more rainx.
I was wondering this too.
I thought the rule was exhaust shouldn't be louder than it was designed to be i.e. to stop people drilling holes in them to make them louder. But if an after market was designed to be a bit louder then that would be OK. Seems like a grey area.
Are you asking or telling lol? I'm genuinely interested.
I always wondered why people didn't just copy the spring and damper rates straight from the cup racers. Mine are 450 front and 400 rear IIRC.
I've never heard of problems like that though and I've definitely heard the 1000lb springs info before.
Cup racer cage is bolt in onto welded plates and only 6 point.
IIRC mine are just taped up under the dash. I have no problems with the alarm going off, but I did have to cut some wires to get the dash out and I did suspect these were alarm related as they weren't part of the main loom so that could be why I have no alarm problems lol.
With the std rear spring position and cup racer being different don't you need to factor that in before comparing the spring rate? I've not thought it through fully but I would have thought a 50 N/mm in the std spring position would equate to something smaller when the spring is moved out to be...
Looking good James. I still haven't worked on mine since Oulton.
Don't think I'll be out until July looking at the dates/locations and what we already have on. I could do Brands but I'd need to crack on on the car and it is 5 days before I get married so Caroline is not keen lol.
I think this is the guy Fred built the engine for?
Similar spec to what you are talking about.
Dyno results http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?540049-newbie-with-a-clio-cup-race-car/page35 spec is earlier in the thread.
No. 1 looks worrying to me, especially with your other problems in that cylinder.
You're mostly compressing the air so I can't see the injector making a difference to that degree.
It's a money saving compromise so I guess you just have to accept the down side for a couple of laps.
There should be enough space out there for it to not be an issue mid-race. First corner you have 30-40 cars all close together with cold brakes and tyres.
You would still probably be quicker...
Looks awesome, shame there is not more closed road stuff like that in the UK.
I hope the MSA manage to get the law changed so a closed road event doesn't require an act of parliament.
Petition here if anyone would like to sign it http://www.petition.co.uk/msa/.
