My 172 has 22 bolts :)
Like Swede says I wouldn't worry too much. I have in the past left the extra bolt until last and I've also fitted it into the sequence in what I thought was the correct place - there is quite an obvious pattern if you look at the sequence.
Both worked fine. I did apply...
Next year some time. I need to figure out a softer suspension setup as my ASTs are too stiff. I'll probably just put my std stuff back on for starters.
There is nothing actually wrong with it.
It was just a little on the wide side. I could have fitted it as it was but it would have meant cutting some holes in the sills as the captive nuts on the box section the cage fixes too would foul the sill.
I took a pic, that describes it better than...
Passenger side does lock up first as there is less weight assuming you have no passenger.
Get the brakes tested for efficiency at an MoT station if you're worried. If there is no excessive pad wear one side or pulling to one side under braking I doubt you have a significant problem.
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
Great write up mate. I must try and get over to The Ring and Spa at some point.
A mate found this. He follows me on the first lap for a bit and then catches me sideways on the grass at 21:35.

Just re-reading this and I thought it sounds like I didn't refit the cross in the main hoop. I did refit it but I had to shave about 10mm of the bottom tubes to make it fit.
Thanks Pete. I definitely need to try some different pads the EBC ones seem a lot more wallet friendly. I only managed 1 test, 1 race and 2 wet track days on the Ferodo pads, although I think I have some mild binding.
Yes the windows was very silly of me. Note to self do implement half baked ideas while sat on the start line.
What clio ;)
I noticed you short shifted in knickerbrook, seems like the way to go. I did try second at shell oils corner but it made no difference on speed.
I noticed the rear view...
CSCC Tin Tops Oulton Park 6/10/2012
Loaded up the trailer and car Friday night after work and set off up to Oulton Park. I grew up on the Wirral and my parents still live there so it is a nice local race for them (25 miles) but I decided not to stay there the night before and to kip at the...
Have you tried getting the abs to cut in while driving - find a nice field or similar and get the pump to kick in a few times and then try re-bleeding.
Yes it is weird. Even weirder after racing on the DS2500s there was no vibration by the end of the race.
I've read of similar problems being down to wheel bearings but they seem fine.
Had a busy couple of months on and off the car.
Pre-Oulton Race update.
Oulton Park Trackday 18/9/2012
Since I'd never driven Oulton I planned to do a track or test day there before the race and a mate wanted to take his car on a track day so we arranged to go to Oulton on the 18th of...
Yes that's me.
I got loads of wheel spin. Then I got bumped wide on the first corner and lost a load of places from that.
I got the window up using the switch off my 182 when I got back to my Mum's lol. Benefit of having two nearly identical cars.
Had the Oulton park race on Saturday. Another good day.
Qualified 12th in the damp. Was 23rd by the end of the first lap!!! Had braking issues, a spin on some oil, trip over the grass, exchange of paint with an Alfa and a problem with my windows. So an eventful race. Finished 17th in the end...
