I am all set for Thruxton.
I have created a minor electrical gremlin after getting water in the electric window switch - The electric window switch now starts the wipers! It sorts itself out after a few seconds/minutes. It doesn't seem to have effected anything else so I am planning to just...
Good to see you going well at the weekend.
I can't do Mallory as we're away :( I might do Brands but the car might be in too many pieces. I am planning to do Oulton with you/French Trophy.
When I press the electric window switch or turn on the intermittent wipers it triggers a fault were the wipers start and don't stop. There is also a lot of clicking coming from the UCH and the immobiliser light comes on solid red during the fault.
This is on my 172 cup racing car. It still has...
I have the std bit of carpet just cut back. I have some of the nimbus stuff but I haven't got around to fitting it yet. I've never actually felt the coil pack to see if it was hot.
I ran mine for months without mapping and Paul at RS tuning reckoned it had trimmed itself to almost the correct...
I had an RS2 on the race car until this year.
It was hesitant at low revs before I had it mapped. The VVT normally disengages about 6500 rpm, but with the RS2 it is best to keep it engaged all the way to the limiter.
I never had any problems with the coil pack or heat soak.
They sure are :) It is a tight fit with the angle the ktec bodies come up at, I'll need to trim a bit of the inner bonnet skin away.
Yes it will be good to get out there. The circuit is scarily fast lol.
I've entered Thruxton on the 1st of June.
I started to fit my bodies and new loom. I got this far by early May...
and realised there was no way I would be able to get it ready in time. Seeing as I was getting married on the 11th and had some stuff to prepare before hand, the wife was going...
There is a TDC mark on the flywheel that you can see and the notch for the key (that isn't there) on the crank should be between two particular lines in the casting.
The Renault pdf has it all in. PM me your e-mail if you want a copy.
The Renault pdf going around also says you don't need to undo the cam pulleys to just do the belt. A Renault mech I know said he didn't undo the cam pulleys when changing the 1*2 belts.
I've done it this way with no problems.
