Yeah that's what I got when I Googled it, just wanted confirmation ;)
Anyone know what years this would have been fitted to and if it was used in any other models?
Thanks.
Hi,
I just wondered if anyone knew what car these are from?
I'm assuming it's a Laguna, but hoped someone could confirm.
Thanks :)

Hi mate,
That was me that left a card on your car, hope you don't mind and didn't think you'd got a parking ticket! ;)
I work just round the corner (day job) from where I saw your car and thought I'd give you my details in case you need someone local for used spares or just those silly little...
The bores are nearly all the same, but no.1 has deeper scores than the rest.
I've not had a chance to check the pistons yet, but I'll get everything stripped down and takes some pictures.
I've got all the service details for the car and it shows it had a belt and tensioner change at 37,356 miles...
The previous owner took the car in for a suspected noisy dephaser and severe cam journal damage was found.
It's down to a poorly/incorrectly fitted dephaser seal, which has been leaking oil, as for the bore damage though I assume that's due to lack of oil getting to the bore and the rings maybe...
Thanks mate, appreciate the offer but this was just a lump from a 182 I was breaking and not an ongoing project/build, so I'll probably just wack it on ebay as spares repairs.
I had kind of hoped I'd be able to hang onto the bottom end for a potential future project, as it was only on 57k, but...
Thought as much, think I'll strip the rest down and see if the cranks worth saving then.
I wasn't expecting to find scores in the bore tbh, thought the crank would be a goner and not the other way round.
Thanks
Hi,
Just wanted to see whether this block is worth saving or just binning?
Also thoughts on the crank please... Is it Knackered?
Thanks

Wow you're a cynical bunch. LOL
If the guy works at a breakers/salvage yard, sounds like he used parts from cars that came in.
I think anything that's been scrapped/written off wouldn't be allowed back on the road, so by using the plates of the 1.2, he's got what was probably a write off (197...
I have lots of various 172 & 182 parts and will be adding more over the next day or two.
Shafts, seats, interior & exterior trim parts, subframe, bonnet, CUP spoiler, spare wheel + tyre, Spax springs, etc, etc, all worth a look :)...
Re: pedal going straight to the floor then returning, no leaks, bled many times. HELP
Is that not a sign that your master cylinder is knackered?
Sounds like the seals have gone, especially if you had the problem before fitting the above items and you're sure there are no leaks(fluid or vacuum).
Seriously mate don't even bother, the centre bore does exactly what it says, it centres the wheel.
If contact between the centre of the wheel and hub wasn't important, spigot rings wouldn't exist!
Take it to your local machinist and have it done properly, I was quoted about £100 to remove a...
Buy a suede brush, this is the one I bought and it made a huge difference to the appearance of the suede http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Suede-Brush-Nubuck-Restore-Nap-Ugg-Cleaner-Rubber-Reviver-Stubborn-Stains-New-/140937456997?pt=UK_Clothing_ShoeCare_Shoe_Care_LE&hash=item20d086ed65 .

Re: Spax quality issues seemed to have been brushed under the carpet..... How stran
I'm sure you didn't have to give a reason, it's just a shame you felt the need to mention that fact:lolup:.
How very humble of you sir. LOL
I think that if you'd have fitted the replacement RSX kit and had the same issues again, you'd have grounds for legal action, but due to the fact this could be a case of one set of faulty items that they(Spax) have now replaced with new, you'll not have any luck legally IMO.
It's almost like...
Re: Spax quality issues seemed to have been brushed under the carpet..... How stran
I really don't want to get into an argument, BUT that comes across(to me anyway) as very arrogant....
Really?... You don't have to justify ANYTHING?
Wow, I want your job.... I'd love to not be particularly...
I'm sure the caliper should come off the cable, when pulled towards you, if that makes sense..
I've had one refuse and was an absolute pig to get off, but most come off with a little persuasion.
I think you should be able to swap the seats, if you look closely at the recline knob on the drivers seat in the first pic, you can just about see what looks like another release handle, also on the passenger seat in the other pic.
I may be wrong, but it appears they're on both sides of the...
Pretty much, yes mate.
Most aftermarket wheels have a large centre bore and spigot rings to suit the vehicle.
I don't think all aftermarket brands have a ''set size'' and they probably vary slightly, but the principle of what you're saying is correct.
What would I be looking for, if I was to pull the shaft out, are they massively different to standard? Genuine question, as I bought a Cup a while back that ''supposedly'' had a diff and I wasn't 100% how different it would look over the standard item.
Cheers.
TBH, you finding someone not agreeing with the masses is what's strange here
I've formed an opinion on the experience I had and advised the OP to, try before he buys.
I'm not suggesting that it's a 'fact' and that ITB's are a waste, merely that a low mileage 172 with a Ktec fitted...
I think you've all missed my point and taken my comment a little bit out of context. ''I just didn't come away with any other feeling than flatness'' I meant within myself, a kind of disappointment, not that the car was ''flat'', it just wasn't for me.
My comments are based on this car in...
It may be different when you're the one who's spent ALL that money on a car(placebo effect;):rasp:), but me personally, I just didn't come away with any other feeling than flatness, really not impressed, just my opinion though.
I may feel different out on the track with the ITB car, but for a...
