@GrahamS came down again this weekend for another car day. Our aim was to finish off the oil cooler install, and get the car running so some track days can be booked before the Summer is over.
After a slow chilled out start, the afternoon approached and we'd not got much done. It was looking...
When I looked into springs. The upgraded cat cam ones and similar, were actually too much for my standard build with 421s and ITBS. They needed a more aggressive cam from memory to compress the stiffer spring... Something along those lines. So my engine builder advised against them. (lots...
My PRG twin axle trailer weighs 400kg unladen.
It can take a car up to 1300kg.
If Clio is a 1100kg and trailer is 400. That gives you scope for any tow car with a maximum gross weight of 2000kg. I think that's how it works. Max gross weight of tow car, plus trailer weight, plus load weight...
I understand what you're saying Chip. haha
But, you wont need a couple of tins. It'll be one tin if it's Black Hammerite, into the second at most. White you may need more as the colour will show through it more.
I scraped and rubbed down the entire rear floor of my Clio when the paint...
This is the one:

My mate paid £100 for one recently, so it looks like the price changes every now and again.
This one looks like it could be the same too...
Without looking back through every post to find it.
Can someone give me a summary pretty please....
Is this being made, has it already been given the go ahead? What are the estimated prices?
I really like the look of it.
ARP bolts. Get the head done by @ALD. Supertech valves. 197 valve springs over 182 valve springs. I wouldn't bother with forged or high comp personally. Will just mean much bigger repair bills if anything goes wrong.
182 manifold is sufficient, or get the PMS one if you have monies to burn.
Where did you leave the car over there when you returned home? With a mate somewhere or in a garage? I'd have been worrying about it being nicked if it were me!
Looks mint in the photo of it coming off the trailer!

I doubt a layer of paint weighs enough to be concerned about chap. May as well go for a small dump before driving it if you're looking at that fine a detail :tongueout:
Sound deadening weighs a fair bit. Something like 15-20kg in total. My mate has made a mascot man out of all of his and...
Black Hammerite. Two coats with a brush.
I did try and do one coat originally but it started to run and looked s**t so I ended up rubbing a lot of it off again and doing more prep work before hand.
It's not perfect by any means. But does the job and looks tidy enough. Plus it cost me about £15
Brush on. Easy to do and you wont get brush strokes. Just don't try to do it in one coat.
Plus the paint is cheap and you can top up chips or scratches very easily.
Obviously a proper professional spray job will be better but that's money you could spend on trackdays.
There's no touching on the body by any of the springs, and no rubbing on the front wheels on full lock when maneuvering around my drive (Had no MOT at the time to road test again). So I'm yet to find what the knocking from before was. The rear springs are pretty close though so maybe it could...
Road legal, but I generally use a trailer all the time now. Can't be bothered to deal with breakdowns and getting the car home.
Clutch failure at Bedford could have been a nightmare. Well it was, but at least I had the Clio day to enjoy whilst waiting for the recovery truck.
F*ck me, what a story!
How you didn't smash the thing up and give up I don't know.
Hats off to the gents who helped out too, love hearing about stuff like this!
Gutted the trip wasn't as expected though, I was looking forward to seeing a tasty update.
Long live the cup x
Can you really lol? Toyota? How can that be possible? On Autotrader they're all £16-20k with 20 odd thousand miles..
I'll let the old man know though. He wanted to price it high anyway as he was not sure whether to change or not.
My old man has put the family wagon up for sale. No other reason than because he wants a change.
Had it from new for three years now. Not had any issues, apart from a heated seat button which Toyota fixed.
19K miles. Full Toyota service history.
Great spec with roof and roll bars.
I've...
