Let the car warm up then go to back of car and listen at the exhaust for small popping noises from the exhaust. pop... Pop pop .... Pop..... etc. probably won't be very loud so listen carefully lol. If it is doing that id say injectors but don't hold me to that as it could be anything.
Is it slightly misfiring and coughing/spluttering when idling or just shaking the car?
Do you know anyone local that has a 1*2? If so could be worth calling in a favour and borrowing his injectors for a couple of mins to see if that sorts it. could also be very cheeky and pinch his coil pack...
A lot of them tend to be a bit stodgy mate, if it pulls well and is fine under load i wouldn't worry to much. If its really bothering you i'd try swapping the injectors.
Poly bushes will make it a nice bit tighter than standard but if you do them all it will make the ride quite a bit stiffer. well worth doing tho will transform the handling. Solid top mounts are very good addition to although they are abit over priced imo.
Ball joints and arb bushes will make a huge difference. Track rod arms to but they can be a nightmare to change(access is limited to say the least lol)
Just drag and drop the new .exe file into the folder that contains rstuner.exe and replace the old one when it asks. If you can't find the folder use the search on the pc.
Put a request in wanted section or local area section to borrow a rs tuner or diagnostic tester for 5 mins then drive or offer to pay petrol. Will save you a decent .
You should always warm your engine! Even when water temp is up leave it another 5 / 10 mins for oil temp. You will be murdering your internals and halving the life of your engine. You see it all to often people thrashing it from cold.
Did you spray the interior yellow or does it come like that? dunno if it's just mine or not but Renault went shady with the paint on the inside of my cup lol.
I've removed mine, couldn't handle the rattling! Drove me insane and makes your car look like a bag of s**t when pulling off slowly! I was purposely over revving when pulling off to stop it lol. Done about 10k without it, no problems so far.
189 on a pretty much stock engine! Certainly reading high, wonder what it would of produced if you told him it was standard my guess is 172? Go back tell him you have matched the inlets and gas flowed the head. Bet you miraculously get 195.
Jack it up and get a pole or crow bar or summit and get leverage and pry at the ball joints and rods etc and check for play and knocking noises, thats all a garage will do. Don't take it to a garage they will pull your trousers down no doubt and invent or cause problems
13mm engine bay and 10mm catback side. Can be very fiddly job! especially for a first timer. 10mm rachet spanner will make it much easier! You'll need 2 people aswell, one under car and one to hold the rachet in the engine bay. Using a new fitting kit also speeds up the process drastically! My...
I feel for you man! When i had my 106gti i had endless problems with the engine, completely disheartening aint it. If you do decide to go for another engine there a quite a few reasonably prices ones on ebay.co.uk atm...
