Apex springs are horrendous they give a very poor cashy ride. It also sounds like rear shocks are done with as it shouldn't be bouncing about. Either barter for the price to be lowered to allow for new springs and shocks or walk away imo, plenty of good cups about.
Get a cup or ph1 mate, they are both much better cars than the 182s! Perfect combination been 172 cup with Ph1 front end and 15" rims. 182s are sluggish and don't look as nice.
I have no head unit as car is completely stripped. Was just wanting some way of listening to music on long journeys to track days etc. at 12 quid seems a right bargain. how does it perform? can you get it up to a decent volume?
Hi, can anyone tell me if its possible to eliminate the need for a head unit? What I would like if possible would be a set of speakers mounted in the car with just a aux lead to connect my phone/mp3 player to. How would I go about doing this? And would I be able to get the speakers to turn up...
You need seats, subframes, side mounts and adjusters inless you are prepared to drill your subframes and not bothered about adjustment in which case do what I did and get seats with base mounting holes and drill subframes and mount straight to them. Gives a very low and nice seating position :)...
Not that's its any of my business but Renault must be raping you senseless for poor advice and service. If you can't do it yourself, for the love of god take it somewhere else! They are called stealers for a reason!
1 thing to note though, if you remove both bottom bolts the rear beam will be free to drop so either lower is slowly with a jack or support it with a axle stand or do 1 side at a time lol.
You buy the tuner first then hook it upto the car then screen shot all the car details which be listed on the left then send that to henk. He will then send you the correct map for your car. Its done this way because far to many people kept installing the wrong maps lol.
Shocks have gone by sounds of it, look for leaking oil or ideally whip one off and try to compress it. A correctly working shock will compress in then slowly come back out. Knackered one will be more like a pogo stick lol.
Don't start throwing hundreds at it mate if it drives nice just leave it, they all idle crap you will more than likely plough £££ into it and will still be lumpy and misfirey on idle.
rstuner maps help a fair bit though plus really smooth out the rev range and also help with cold starts.
Either bleed full system or take it to a garage to have everything done or your gonna be waving bye bye to your clio and hello to tasty insurance premiums. It honestly is a piece of piss lol, get one of your mates to pump the pedal while you work your way round to the car starting with rear n/s...
If you can't bleed brakes you can't change the caliper it will be potentially very dangerous left unbled.
Ps. Just bleed them its a absolute piece of piss lol, changing the calipers is a lot harder and that saying something lol.
Think that's pretty much best you can do with polo rad as its plastic covered you can't weld any brackets on. I got Corrado/sirroco alloy rad I can sell you, then ya could just tig weld a few brackets on rad, that's what I had to do with my nova's intercooler as that had nowhere to mount to...
